Pros: intriguing, touching, sometimes humorous documentary; no stereotypes!; dvd features Cons: no women players; jock movie; ending weak
Summary: The majority of movies involving disabled characters will play on the audiences need to sympathize with them for their tough, undeserved life with challenges. Some quite recent ones, like Million Dollar Baby and The Sea Inside, even ... read more

Pros: Motivational and high energy. Many excellent extras. Cons: Strong profanity, sexually explicit dialogue, alcohol use
Summary: "Murderball" is the rough-and-tumble world of U.S. Wheelchair Quad Rugby, a sport with essentially tank-like wheelchairs, a ball, male pride, and a whole lot of youthful testosterone and adrenaline. There are no helmets, no shin guards, only speed, ... read more

Pros: Never condescends. Action is enhanced by emotion. Cons: Language is not suitable for children.
Summary: "Murderball" is nothing short of brilliant. Hats off to the filmmakers of this documentary for a compelling look at a violent sport (quadriplegic indoor rugby), the men who set the tone and the mood for it and the real people behind those public visages. ... read more

Pros: Lacks PC preachiness concerning its subject: quadriplegics. Zupan, et al.: incredibly life-affirming athletes, human beings. Cons: Spatially, I would have loved to "see" some shots of the game from high above.
Summary: As quadriplegic, Mark Zupan, one of the "stars" of this documentary notes, though a provocative slang term, "Murderball," (as it is called amongst its fans and participants) is not an appropriate marketing tool in terms of getting quadriplegic wheelchair ... read more

Pros: An interesting look at a great topic! Cons: Language in film does not allow children to learn from this film.
Summary: After watching the movie Murderball it became clear to me: there are two unique and distinct ways that this film could have been made. A movie that simply begs for sympathy on behalf of those who are quadriplegic simply might not carry the same ... read more

Pros: Everything. Cons: Nothing.
Summary: It's been a damn good while since I saw a good documentary. Murderball is best described as "a film about quadriplegics who play full-contact rugby in Mad Mad-style wheelchairs" while attempting to get a good seed in the Paralympics (and ... read more
