Pros: Interesting movie with good cast Cons: Slow in places. Too violent for some viewers.
I first saw a poster in the local theater for the movie Four Brothers months ago. It was probably a few months after that before I ever saw a trailer and found out what the movie was about. The movie did look interesting though I wasn’t ...

Pros: Direction, Cinematography, action scenes, Wahlberg, gritty story Cons: part of the climax
John Singleton is back to Directing films that he can hang is hat on. With credits in including Boyz n The Hood, Poetic Justice, and Higher Learning, Singleton is finally back with a film that does credit to his abilities. With Four Brothers, we ...

Pros: Original story Cons: CGI used when not needed
Four Brothers stars Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, and Andre Benjamin in a film directed by John Singleton of Boyz in tha Hood fame. It’s about four troubled young men who grew up in a foster home and are all reunited years later by the ...

Pros: Singleton directs a thoughtful film with a lot of heart. Cons: The genre is cliche-ridden and the tone is sometimes inconsistent.
John Singleton's Four Brothers is a gem in a box of Cracker Jacks. After a season of me-too revenge plots, it seemed unlikely that any film had anything new to say, let alone one where the leader of the "revenge posse" is (Marky) Mark Wahlberg. ...

Pros: A hell of a fun ride. Cons: Mark Wahlberg is NOT the Duke.
I cannot have been the only person to have recognized that John Singleton's "Four Brothers" is a loose remake of the 1965 John Wayne western "The Sons of Katie Elder". Or could I? Then I read a review of it in the local weekly City Link which pointed out ...

Pros: Great social commentary as always and strong performance from Terrence Howard... Cons: ...easily overcome a rather weak plot and some grit.
Did I miss the memo again? When did Marky Mark Wahlberg become an action hero? Wasn't it only just yesterday that he was signing with the Funky Bunch and sold underwear? Yet there he was in Four Brothers all big and bad and scruffy, looking ...

Pros: Actor chemistry, action sequences, hockey scenes, Motown tunes and Angel's hot girlfriend - Aye Chihuahua! Cons: Some lame police behavior, slow disjointed pace
Ok, if someone killed your mom, what would you do? Would you go to the cops? Would you handle things yourself? If you lived in a place where the cops and city officials were on the take, I think you'd handle your business on your own or with your ...

Pros: Tough, simple story; Mark Wahlberg; Terrence Howard; cool Singleton direction Cons: A trifle implausible; end is a disappointment
"So let's take a look at these thanksgiving birds," Evelyn Mercer (Fionnula Flanagan) says after convincing a neighborhood kid to return some looted items at a local convenience store. As far as famous last words go this is hardly memorable, if it wasn't ...

Pros: The chemistry, the interplay between the actors feels good, comfortable. Cons: Sometimes the fusion of all the elements don't work: Humor, drama, action, sentimentality
Although it tries to be too many things all at the same time, Four Brothers succeed. It succeeds mainly because of the actors, Mark Wahlberg, who plays Bobby (The oldest, who has a tendency to act out of anger and on impulse.), Andre ...

Pros: Good production values, action scenes, photography and acting. Cons: Ending seems a bit of Rube Goldberg.
FOUR BROTHERS begins with an urban crime which is all too familiar -- two armed thugs staging a hold up of mini-mart. Not content with taking all the cash, the robbers kill the storekeeper - and the one customer, elderly Evelyn Mercer (Fionnula ...

Pros: Decent Acting, Interesting Characters, Well-executed Plot, Good direction Cons: Far too many "types," Problematic Lack of Consequences
I was surprised, given how many people have recommended I see "Boyz N The Hood," that I had not yet seen a single film by acclaimed director John Singleton. Having watched "Four Brothers," a movie that serves as vehicle for Andre Benjamin ("Andre 3000" ...

Pros: First rate ensemble lead by Mark Wahlberg. Cons: IMO poor song selections and music score.
When you walk into a movie what do you want to see and feel? a) A good non-convoluted story that unfolds and makes sense b) A good ensemble cast, perfect casting for the characters on screen c) A little emotional tug and feeling for the characters ...

Pros: Well paced, great action scenes, good "whodunit" thrown in for some mystery. Cons: Sometimes funny parts when it should maybe have been more dramatic.
Four brothers is a movie that seems to touch on several themes but does not delve to deep into any of them. This is okay, because though it's slow at times when developing the setting showing the chemistry between these guys, there are some explosive ...

Great Movie.........
by azariaofsc ,Sep 19 '05
Pros: Rollercoaster movie with great acting... Cons: Mark Wahlburg should expand his rolls a little.
This is a wonderful movie that contains all the elements to make a great action movie.....Great actors, great plot, lots of emotion, a ton of action, and a twist here and there. Mark Wahlburg, plays his usual roll as a tough street wise, but sensitive Guy. Tyrese Plays a Playa' with a soft spot...The other white guy played his roll well and although i dont know his name now I am sure it wont be long from now that it will be known to many. I was most impressed with Andre Benjamine roll...he really impressed me..most rappers turn actors are just not ,honestly, talented...Andre had something to prove.
