Pros: the acting, innovative idea of filming, the extreme amounts of irony, great story Cons: too short
Five Lives. One Moment. No Coincidence. That is the tag-line for the independent film 11:14. The time is significant, because a number of events occur at exactly 11:14pm, which criss-cross the lives of each of the 5 people being ...
Pros: slick, funny, never boring Cons: has no meaning or purpose beyond the puzzle itself
There are some stories you really can't pitch because to do so is to either say too little or say too much. You're left with a mouthful of pleasant-sounding vagaries. You're tempted to go into that analogy about the taste of salt - or what color must ...
Pros: Kind of interesting Cons: Too short to have that much overlap
11:14 is a movie about irony. It tells the entangled tales of a bunch of people who nearly all commit criminal acts. What attracted me to this 2003 indie movie was the stellar cast, which includes the late Patrick Swayze, Hilary Swank, Colin ...
Pros: I'm not one to usually say "my eyes were glued to the screen", but damn. Cons: The ending jumps up on you like "Boo!"
If you love jigsaw puzzles and you love movies, you'll just adore 11:14. This is the kind of film you watch and while your mouth is continually uttering phrases like "Ohh, I get it now!", or "So that's what was XX when YY was ZZ" and other such ...
In a sleepy little town called Middletown, a random group of things all happen centered around 11:14 pm. At first they seem unrelated but as the story unfolds we see that they all overlap each other and it all part of this great circle known ...
Pros: A keeper and a genuine bargain at $12.99 on Amazon!
Cons: Jumps in perspective are often difficult for viewers, but necessary to this story!
Civilizations have risen and fallen in the turn of an instant, and Fate often displays a quirky and rather dark sense of humor. In this film we see several seemingly unrelated lives intersect dramatically at precisely 11:14pm on one random evening. A ...
Pros: Fun story with a bunch of interweaving plots Cons: Nothing too deep going
MacGuffin: A device or plot element that catches the viewer's attention or drives the plot. It is generally something that every character is concerned with. Usually it's an object that everyone wants. This is the case with the independent film ...
Pros: The acting, a bit comedic, the storylines Cons: You need to pay close attention every minute of the film
11:14 involves the lives of several people that intertwine to create a brutal murder, in which all of the characters, including the one that dies, are involved. For an indie film debut involving the likes of Hilary Swank, Patrick Swayze, and ...
Pros: Laugh out loud suspense Cons: kinda short-85 minutes
This movie was one of the most interesting films I have ever seen. It has the same idea as many other movies that focus on one incident but telling it from different point of views. But it does it in a unique way that requires your attention trough the entire movie. A little overview of the plot. There is a car accident at 11:14. There are like ten people involved in bizarre and coincidental ways. It basically unravels how it all occured over about 85 minutes. (pretty short movie) The mood was different than I expected but entertaining none the less. A little dark humor mixed with a crazy sequence of events makes for a movie you won't regret seeing.
Pros: High concept, smart and unique plot, excellent pacing. Cons: Parts of story are too hard to believe (i.e., how things fit so perfectly together).
This is a great movie, along the lines of other good films like _Memento_, _Crash_, _Donnie Darko_, and _Run Lola Run_. It's a high-concept movie that actually delivers on itself, and that is a rarity. The movie is smart, edgy, and intriguing. Five separate storylines converge into one in a really cool way. This movie hasn't received much press or anything, but I recommend you give it a try. We picked it up on a whim--the title sounded interesting--and were pleasantly surprised.
