Pros: Great story. Will make you feel good. Cons: Can't think of one.
So rarely do I see a movie that makes me feel... fantastic.
"Little Manhattan" actually inspired me to blog about it last night. It's a great little movie about two 10 year olds in love, but this is NOT a kids movie. I honestly don't even think kids would fully understand the themes... the movie is appropriate for kids to watch, but I think adults stand to get more from watching it.
This love story is a reflection on how we adults actually experience love and infatuation. What's brilliant about it is that it reminds us of years past - and a purity that adults don't seem to have once they've grown. But really, we do. The pure, basic feelings that we feel for others aren't exclusive to adults. They begin when we're young. This movie reminds us of that...and it's funny...and simply wonderful.
Also, Bradley Whitford and Cynthia Nixon are great. Their roles are small, but important. If you're a fan of either of them, don't miss this movie.
