The long awaited film version of the past popular series by Michael Mann. An interesting choice of actors for the roles, but nonetheless good choices. Sonny(Farell) and Rico(Foxx) go undercover as drug smugglers/suppliers after a FBI undercover sting operation results in tragic consequences. Good action with the proper amount of drama; what one would expect from Michael Mann. I thought it was a nice touch to cast Gong Li, a Chinese actress in the film as I do not recall seeing any Asian actors or actresses in the original series. There certainly is the potential for a part two, but would require a unique plot. I believe the film critics were a bit harsh on their reviews as the movie was up to my expectations.
