Pros: Outstanding performances, and a REALLY super screen adaptation. Cons: As with any BBC mini-series, occasionally creaks under its low budget.
Summary: Lengthy adaptations of Charles Dickens novels are often entertaining, but they can be very "talky." Certainly, there is a lot to say and explain and show in a Dickens epic...his books were huge and his plots were thick. However, this adaptation of ... read more

Pros: Excellent characters, wonderful costumes, good plot Cons: Slightly tedious at times, but well worth it in the end

Pros: Cast and performances; authentic costumes, makeup, sets; introductory music; brisk pacing. Cons: Anderson too frosty; transitional rapid cuts, swooshing and booming sounds; heavy on thunderous music.
