Pros: some funny moments, an intriguing premise Cons: much of the story falls flat, lack of real emotion, didn't have consistancy in presentation

Pros: Entertaining from start to finish; great effects; still, Wilson and Coogan Cons: None
Looking after a 4-month old boy increases one thing... time spent on the couch watching television. This is, by no means, a daily ritual but the frequency of it has increased, mostly due to the sheer exhaustion of trying to stay awake. Yes, I use ...
Pros: Stiller and Williams were great Cons: Silly at times

Pros: Funny, great acting, great cast Cons: A lot of untied knots

Pros: Highly entertaining family action/adventure for the Holidays Cons: The trailer gave away too much, but the film is still well worth it!
Larry Daley is at loose ends. In fact, it appears as if he has been drifting for years, much to the concern of his now ex-wife, Erica, and disappointed son, Nick. After the failure of his invention, The Snapper... evidently a significant portion of the ...

Pros: Some undeniably nifty special effects Cons: Poor script and direction

Pros: Family entertainment, funny, solid cast Cons: Some story lines undeveloped, suspension of disbelief factor very high
I have to say I was puzzled when I first saw previews for this movie. Why would Ben Stiller want to do such a movie? I then saw that Owen Wilson was also in it so I thought it might not be too bad. I was pleasantly surprised at the entertainment ...

Pros: Good Cast, Great CGI, family friendly Cons: Drags in parts, lacks oomph, did not work

Pros: Fairly clean for a Ben Stiller movie, good for families Cons: Sometimes the benign violence is mean spirited
Night at the Museum is better than most Ben Stiller movies who comes across as a one dimensional actor who likes to take smut to its higher (or lower?) level. I saw the movie out of extreme boredom one evening but was more than pleasantly surprised ...
Pros: Plenty of comedians... Cons: ... very few laughs.
Ben Stiller starring in a PG rated film is about as natural and believable as casting the dearly departed Rodney Dangerfield in the role of God. Oh wait, they did do that, I forgot about the 1995 comedy, “Angels and Angles,” silly me. Mr. Stiller, whose ...
Pros: Good for all ages, interesting characters Cons: No major complaints from here

Pros: Entertaining, feel-good, family-friendly. Cons: No depth, not that funny, one-time watch.
My husband and I decided to check this movie out at IMAX since it has some special effects. We love going to museums and enjoy Stiller's performance so it looks like an interesting match. If you like cotton-candy, feel-good, family fanfare, this rates ...
Pros: Great photography and effects, some good laughs. Cons: The 'doofus dad trying to prove himself' theme is old stuff.
I mean 'Hun' as in Attila, who has a good cry after doofus security guard Larry (Ben Stiller) puts him in touch with his inner abused child. I rather enjoyed this silly comedy, although the first five minutes seemed way too familiar: sweet ne'er-do-well ...
Pros: Big name Comedians. Cons: Not funny. Long and drawn out.
I'm glad I didn't pay to see NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM at the theater. I expected much more with such big names in comedy. Another example proving a big name cast does not a good movie make. Ben Stiller was good in MEET THE PARENTS. He is OK in such ...

Pros: Great actors and Supporting actors, Hilarious Screenplay, and good movie for everyone to see. Cons: Major logical errors, mediocre plot, and unaccurate historically.

Pros: Good cast and very clever animation. Cons: Not quite as funny as I thought.

Pros: family friendly, totally funny, action and adventure! Cons: some foul language
I was extremely wary of seeing this movie. I'd seen the previews and written it off as another one of those "kid's" movies that in truth are full of adult content. Then we were at a friend's house and they put it on for the kids and assured me I would ...

Pros: Cameos of real dinosaurs - Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney and Bill Cobbs Cons: Pointless storyline and fake dinosaur

Pros: No cursing, good family oriented material, funny Cons: Slow at times, but not very often, picks up quick.

Pros: Lots of fun great family movie Cons: slight rude talk may not be suitable for children under school age.

Not Your Regular Night At The Museum by femasia ,Dec 20 '06
Pros: Hilarious, silly, entertaining Cons: If you're very technical, the over-the-top things might bother you
This was a fantastic and humorous movie! I laughed from the beginning to the end of the movie. The title of the movie does the movie no justice because it makes one think that it would not be as humorous as a movie as it is. There are not many characters in the movie, but you enjoy laughing at the ones who are in it so much that you don't really notice that the scenes are mainly in the museum. It's a movie for the single parent who are down on their luck in finding employment and dealing with his or her kids after the divorce; that is the underlying theme. Even children will enjoy this movie no matter what age they are. My favorite character was "Dexter", the monkey in the movie. It's an unrealistic and silly movie, but that is the entire point of the movie. It does help tremendous for the audience to know U.S. history. In a way, it is a good way to test your children's knowledge of history; although the movie doesn't truly stick to the history. I can't find anything bad to say about this movie.
Great escape from a cold winter night by nbery ,Jan 31 '07
Pros: Creative kids movie. Loved the effects! Cons: A little too long.
I went to see this movie with my children based on encouraging words from other families. It's a fun movie to see with kids and although the story is textbook (slacker parent comes thru for the son) the overall movie is new. It is an imaginative view of the museum and gets you talking about going to visit one. My daughter can't stop asking to read up about some of the historical characters because they are presented in an interesting manner...and because she recognized some from school. This is stuff you just don't get any more, with any kinds of children's entertainment. And although there is potential for scary stuff, nothing is too scary for my 5 year old. Everything has a humorous twist.
Totally worth it. Even my husband put away his Blackberry to watch it.
Ok movie, excellent on an IMAX screen by groove1 ,Dec 24 '06
Pros: Great for a holiday escape especially for kids Cons: A little stupid and silly in some parts
I actually saw this film on an IMAX dome screen at a museum, Discovery Place in Charlotte.
The movie was decent. Our local newspaper's critic called it an ok brain break for the holiday season, and that is basically what it is. It is definitely good for families with only one scene that might seem even stupid and ridiculous to a 6 year old.
The premise is as simple as a Saturday morning cartoon. Stiller's character takes a job as a night guard at a museum. Every thing comes to life at night because of a table that arrived 50+ years ago. Some of the CGI was good and most was flawlessly seamed into the movie. It was a wonderful treat to see these scenes in IMAX with 12000 watts of sound.
Kids will definitely enjoy this, parents will chuckle a couple of times, and the kids might even learn a little bit of history, like how the South ended up with NASCAR ;)
I love Ben Stiller and was anxious to see this movie because of the promos.
The story could have progressed with any actors, but to include Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney and Bill Cobbs was wonderful. Ricky Gervais was not in the movie for long, but did a terrific job. The best part was having Anne Meara (half of one of my favorite comedy groups of all time), Ben's mom, as the worker at the unemployment office.
I also enjoyed how the story unfolded. I had no idea what was going to happen next.
This is a real feel-good movie and I am glad I saw it in the theater. It was fun for all and a very enjoyable night for my whole family.
Pros: Great for the entire family lots of action and laughter... Cons: NONE
This was a great movie for the entire family. With the characters, animals all coming to life when the museum closed and Ben's character was the onlly one to see all that. It was so cool!!
If you want to laugh and be amazed at the action, and the so life like events. Check this one out great for home video collection or as a gift! I think if you want to share some adventure with your kids by having a movie night this is definitely the one to watch...
You will also learn so much about history of events you may not have throught about. I've watched it a few times.
I LOVED WATCHING THIS MOVIE!!! Night of the Museum
Night at the Museum Review by joshuasmommy ,Feb 17 '09
Pros: Captures the innocent imagaination of a child. Cons: Couldn't really think of any cons.
I tend to be really fussy about movies I like. I was really bored one day and watched this movie. I LOVED it. It's so simple and childlike. It struck a chord with me somehow. I like the Easter Island Statue but I also like how Jedidiah was able to vocalize his feelings. I just like that it's a movie I can relax to and laugh at. I decided to buy it because of it's simplicity and the innocence and imagination it presents. I could imagine a child wondering what happens at the museum at night. It's perfect. It also has made me want to research history because I don't know alot about Attila the Hun, Easter Island or anything like that. I like the Easter Island Statue saying "You give me Gum Gum." For some reason, that is my favorite part of the movie. I like the silly rhyming that he does. It just endears him to me. He's just an innocent character and I like it.
Night at the Museum-Wahoo! by m0vietim3 ,May 15 '07
Pros: wonderful animation Cons: better story line
Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson play magnificent parts together because their senses of humor bounce off each other which really make it fun. Ben Stiller plays that part of a watch guard for the night shift at the New Yorks Museum of Natural History where everything isnt really what it seems. Being the guard for the night shift really doesnt sound like to much fun until things unexpectedly start to come to life. There is some great computer animation that really makes you feel you are apart of the action happening. Ben Stiller is supposedly a loser dad who cant do anything right and wants to show his son a good time for once and he promises he wont let him down. This movie was put together with great live-action which brought a cartoon feeling to the movie. It felt like an experience for me as Ben Stiller walked through the Natural History Museum during the day and night and how much different things where when the hours changed. I thought this was a great movie for kids and I think adult will also get a kick out of it because of such great humor.
Good-hearted dreamer Larry Daley, despite being perpetually down on his luck, thinks he's destined for something big. But even he could never have ima...More at HotMovieSale.com
