Pros: I own four TI calculators and the TI83 plus is by far the best.
Cons: If higher levels of math are needed the TI 83 might not suffice.

Pros: Very useful for anyone taking Statistics or an advanced math course.
Cons: Only allows variables and labels with short names, weak solver
Summary: I purchased my TI-83 plus for my A.P Statistics class. Although I already had a TI-86 for my other math courses, I quickly replaced it with my 86. It is an incredibly useful tool.
It graphs functions very quickly, much faster than the 86.
