Pros: kids like them. right width for labeling science projects
Cons: hurts to operate for long periods. Can't correct mistakes
Way back in the 70's, my mom had one of these. It was red with a white handle, and only red tape was available for it. Today, the tape colors are incredibly varied, but the uncomfortable to use design has remained.

Holy Cow! They Still Make these things?!!

Pros: Hand exerciser; oh, it happens to make labels too!
Cons: Hand cramps.
The Dymo series of mechanical labelling systems are a throwback to an age of the viewmaster, and atari 2600; it is a dinosaur. Granted, the Dymo (and the viewmaster) looks cool in this age of retro . It has a 1970's modern esthetic of cheap plastic...
