Pros: Inexpensive, seems reliable. Cons: Doesn't support faxing from application - need fax modem for that
I'd been looking for a replacement for my poor LaserJet 4M+ for about a year, while also looking for a scanner with OCR. At the same time, I was getting tired of trying to play the game of faxing from my computer (through a US Robotics Courier Dual...
Pros: None Cons: Incompatible with PowerBook docking stations, tech support is lousy
I was overjoyed after learning of the Canon C635 MFP. This
was just what I was looking for and I was very happy to finally find
such a multi-function tool for the Macintosh. So I bought one, the happy beginning to an unhappy story.
Pros: Very convenient size for what it does. Very good software driver. Goos price. Cons: Slow but reliable printer.
Several weeks ago I bought a CannonMultiPass C635 for my PowerMAC G3. I wanted a combination device which would be reliable (at least as reliable as the Macintosh itself), priced right and save space. I selected this product after reading several reviews...
Pros: Solid, works great, tons of features, user friendly, great for businesses, comes with everything you need, bundled software is good, quiet, great black and white output Cons: crappy photo/color printouts, scanning is So-So, no printed manual, ink utilization can be troublesome
My family bought this for our small business that deals a lot with real estate. We send and receive faxes all day. This product does both solidly and without hesitation. The software is very helpful, however the one downside is the output quality....
Pros: None Cons: Slow, wastes ink, poor quality, out of date drivers from day one, jams frequently. Frustrating.
This is one of the worst purchases I ever made. The Canon Multipass C635 is a poor quality fax, scanner and printer. It jams frequently in input and output from day one. I am VERY experienced with laser printers and inkjet printers - I have written books ...
Pros: Quick faxes, for the price, you get a printer, copier and scanner on top. Cons: Inferior scans, inferior prints, average copies and doesn't do card stock.
I use the printer and don't regret the $300 I spent for the printer in 1999 because I use it for its most powerful features - faxing and general photocopying in my job search and sending out resumes. I do not use it for scanning - ever! - I use a flatbed...
