Pros: Roatan is lush and beautiful, with great shops, colorful local people and beautiful beaches. Cons: Since it is very touristy, Roatan leaves you wondering what mainland Honduras is like.
Roatan Island, Honduras was one of several stops I made on a recent trip and I found it to be as gorgeous, accommodating and safe as any place I have been. Roatan Island is located off the coast of mainland Honduras and is one of many stops one ...
Pros: Awesome Dedicated Dive Resort Cons: Have to take Grupo Taca to get there!
Co Co View Resort on the Island of Roatan, in Honduras is one awesome resort. I looked at information about several different resorts on Roatan before deciding which one to choose. I even consulted with a fellow writer here on Epinions about their...
Pros: Unlimited excellent shore diving, moderate price Cons: Poor service, bugs, less than hygienic conditions, basically a dive-tenting 'resort'
Well... my wife and I just returned from CCV. This was our second trip and our first trip since the new owners. The original owners, Bill and Evelyn Evans, built the resort back in 1983 but sold it to a non-hands-on owner a few years back. So much had ...
Pros: Beautiful scenery. Freedom to dive. Big fills. Nice dogs. Cons: Bugs, not very accommodating, for divers only. And bugs.
Small, but constant annoyances. Prior to going, I explained that I had some medically necessary dietary restrictions. I was assured that I could have cooked oatmeal at breakfast, and a non-fried entree at every meal. The first breakfast, they had only ...
Pros: Fixed assignment to a dive boat.
Short boat rides.
Comfortable beds.
Poncho the dog. Cons: Tolerated open nudity.
Bad food.
Dirty rooms.
Cranky staff.
Isolation.
Thoughts & Observations After First Visit Week of 7/8-15, 2006 - Color me a "CocoNot!" In a nutshell, I was not impressed by my experience. That said, permit me to elaborate by differentiating the good from the profoundly disappointing. The ...
Pros: Inexpensive dive destination with rustic charm. Cons: No night life to speak of; unsafe at night.
Open up any dive magazine and you will see adds or articles or both about Roatan. The fact you are reading this already tells me you have an interest in Roatan, presumably for diving. There isn't much else to do there. However, these days, cruise...

Roatan, Honduras July 2007 By Duncan Seaman In a Coconut shell: This report is written for the diver considering Coco View Dive Resort (and Roatan) for the first time. Coco View offers excellent value for the serious diver wanting to get the ...

Pros: Excellent dive operation, comfortable accommodations and casual atmosphere Cons: Not much for the non-diver
Cocoview is probably one of the most well known dive resorts on the island of Roatan. I have vacationed here twice and found great rates, exceptional service and excellent dive staff. I found Cocoview and Fantasy Island both worth looking into if you...
Pros: Awesome reefs, Great staff, Great guests, great time Cons: meal time regimented, lots of bugs, dragging dive gear from dock to shore, no beach
My wife and I just got back and wanted to say we had a wonderful week at the cocoview resort on roatan. Having read the previous review by the guy who was punished by having his bananas taken away, we couldn't help but notice there was a different fresh ...

My husband and I just returned from CoCoView in Roatan. I must say that I was a little unsure after all the poor reviews that I recently read. I packed a lot of snacks and extra batteries as well as cactus juice for the bugs. I wasn't sure what to ...
Pros: Beaches are suppose to be beautiful Cons: Hot and humid, poor area, shopping is not very good
We exited our large cruise ship to the Isla of Roatan. Music was playing by a band dressed in tropical costumes, asking for money as we passed. There are a few souvineer shops when you exit the security. You can barter with some of the shop owners. ...
Pros: great dive destination Cons: takes time to get there
Roatan is the largest of three major islands. It is located off the coast of Honduras. The island is surrounded by coral. It is a diver's dream place. You can shore or boat dive. Roatan's people are very friendly. The diving is gorgeous. There are...
I have been to many dive locations throughout the Caribbean and Belize. I would choose Roatan over them all for a few reasons. One the cost of diving their is half to what is is in some of the swank better known resorts. The nightlife is good and the food I had was as good as any I have had in the Caribbean. I would say the two over water restaurants, Fosters and Eagle Rays have the best food on the island. Fosters has the better selection however and the better prices. Fosters, which recentally reopened as a full scale restaurant is the best when considering prices and choice. Mark, the manager, has a very diverse menu and will fix you anything you have a craving for. They also sell the only good steaks on the island that are not 20.00 US. The beer is cold everywhere (Port Royal) and should be bought instead of the Corona that so many gringo's think is the best. These laces are what Key West used to be with a laid back no shoes kind of place. Give it a try and you will return.

Pros: Lots of useful information Cons: It was a little slow loading
I thoroughly enjoyed this website. The information about the Honduras government and their attitude toward foreign investors was very helpful. Being able to view the MLS without requiring my email address was a great confidence builder for me.
