Pros: Breathtaking views, stroller friendly, great Visitor Center Cons: None!!
There are a lot of gems in our National Park System and the Cabrillo National Monument is one of them. The park itself is a short drive from the city part of San Diego. The park consists of 144 acres although there is a lot to see within walking ...
Pros: The great views Cons: Cabrillo is not a well- known historic figure, so some might be disinterested.
Located across the bay from San Diego, Cabrillo National Monument is dedicated to explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, the man who commanded the first European exploration to set foot on the west coast of the United States. This monument sits atop a hill, ...
Pros: Beautiful scenery, ocean and bay views, tidepools Cons: Freezing wind all year round
Today I went to the ocean. I don't have the ocean up at my "other" home up north. A ship canal and several marshes, yes, but not the ocean. I missed it, so I ended up there today.
Cabrillo National Monument is on Point Loma, which is a...
Pros: Beautiful views, natural beauty, hiking, and tidepools Cons: Closes at dusk, so you can't enjoy the views at night.
There are a ton of things to do in San Diego. Visiting the Zoo, Balboa Park, Sea World, and Mission Bay are all pretty much "musts" when you take a trip to "America's Finest City." If you're looking for the best views of San Diego and...
Pros: Beautiful spot Cons: Sometimes way too crowded

One of the prettiest places I have been by erch ,Jan 06 '06
Pros: Absolutely beautiful view of San Diego Cons: Sometimes a little haze detracts from the view.
The Grand Canyon takes your breath away and Cabrillo is nearly as scenic.
It is an amazing place to visit and I can only say I wish I would have had more than 45 minutes to see it.
The only negative I can think of is sometimes the air is dirty looking south towards San Diego and the pictures I took from Cabillo were sort of washed out.
There is a small entrance fee to get in and a nice museum and bookstore.
Make sure to take your national park book to get it stamped.
Not really crowded and there seemed to be plenty of parking space.
The area is the top of a high bluff overlooking San Diego but I would think a wheel chair person would have no trouble with getting around.
It was a pretty long drive from San Diego but well worth it.
