John Muir National Historic Site

Pros: An amazing guy with a history
Cons: none.

I live in Martinez... the hometown of John Muir's house. It is quite a site, yet only locally known. It is never crowded there, though it should be.

The house is just the way it was. It is elegant inside and beautiful outside. Not only do you get a tour of the home but you get a brief history lesson as well. Before I had ever been to the home I often wondered why so many things are named after John Muir (such as schools and hotels) Through visiting the home I learned about this amazing guy and I don't see why other people don't come and visit the small town with such a historical site.

If you are at all interested... i say you come and visit. It'll be worth it.
