Pros: 13 ponds for fishing; the 2 for swimming are kid friendly. Cons: Safety, biking is challenging, campground has no hook ups.
I read the only other review of Myles Standish State Park and I disagree with much of it, although it is a very good review with great information.
Who was Miles Standish the person this park is named after?
He was an...

Waterfront is the way to go!
by campfiend1 ,Aug 30 '04
Pros: Waterfront Sites
Ponds
Friendly Rangers Cons: Poorly set up ranger station/check in.
Poorly marked bathrooms.
Sites too close together.
This Park has some great scenery, yet can be a bit crowded especially during peak weekends. We stayed in the Curlew pond area, so this will pertain to that area only as we did not venture out of our area.
The Ranger station could not sufficiently handle the influx of campers checking in on a Friday evening so even with reservations there was at least a 30 minute wait to check in. Some of the bathrooms were infested with insects (mostly due to the doors being propped open all of the time), and the bathrooms with showers are not clearly marked so we spent some time driving around trying to find one. Overall the bathrooms were fairly clean for campsite bathrooms, and a completely full campground.
The campsites are right on top of each other so if you are looking for solitude this is not the place for you. We had a waterfront site which made up for the close proximity of the other sites. It was a beautiful view down to the Pond and it was very nice to be able to go right into the pond from the site.
