Pros: Nature at it's finest. Cons: Not for those shy of heights.
Being fortunate enough to live just 25 miles from Glacier Park's West entrance, I haven't seen as much of the park as I should have!
Of what I have seen however, mere words cannot possibly describe. Take plenty of film because you're going to...

Pros: Fresh air, beautiful unspoiled scenery Cons: Must have reservations - not a huge selection of accommodations
What can I say that would convey how spectacularly beautiful this park is and how much my batteries are recharged every time I visit? I have been four times and you have to see it to believe it. Nothing I say can fully express my feelings about it, but...

Pros: Some of the best scenery you'll ever see; great hikes. Cons: Accommodations are very inconsistent; service is spotty in several lodges.
Glacier National Park is a true jewel. It is well worth a visit and early September is ideal - the crowds have thinned out and the weather is often sunny with highs only in the 70's. Accommodations are limited and quality uneven. Our experience was ...

Pros: Incredible scenery, comfortable rooms Cons: Only open a few months out of the year
Glacier National Park became a park in 1910, but in 1911, only 4,000 people visited the park that year. The Great Northern Railway, trying to develop tourist activity in the area, built a railroad to the park, and also began construction on the Glacier...

Pros: Breathtaking views of sites. Cons: None.
Canada's counterpart -- Waterton National Park -- adjoins Glacier's boundaries into Canada. The Continental Divide winds along the backbone of Glacier and in a sense creates two entirely unique environments. The western side -- Lake McDonald -- is...

Pros: A beautiful place to relax and unwind. Cons: None.
My husband and I visited this wonderful National Park last year in mid October. The weather was a little cool for my tastes, but I like it hot! I am a Florida girl living in Texas, so hot weather is in my blood.
The scenery is absolutely...

Pros: Clean, not overcrowded Cons: none
WOW. This is what I first thought to myself as I entered the park. All i saw was trees and wilderness. I was surprised how open it was and how it wasn't overcrowded like Yellowstone. I was very impressed by what i saw right away.

Pros: Fantastically beautiful, easy access via roads, but still able to find backcountry experiences Cons: Will have to rename park after c. 2070 when Glaciers have melted completeley
We had a wonderful time in Glacier during the summer of '96.
We took a long dayhike up to Grinell Glacier and lunched next to a lake filled with mini icebergs.
Another August day we hiked up toward the highest pass in the park....

Pros: Great Scenery Cons: located in Montana
Visiting Glacier National Park was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Three years ago, I traveled via Amtrak to Montana. The campground was magnificent, on the edge of a lake with a mountain right on the other side. At night, caribou and...

Pros: Absolutely Beautiful!!! Cons: Momma took my Kodachrome away.
My folks live in Kalispell, a small town touching the majestic Glacier National Park. A couple years back, my wife & I flew out to visit them.
When I woke up that first morning and stepped outside, I was stunned: turning a slow 360, I saw we were...

Pros: the next stop must be heaven! Cons: if you are deathly afraid of heights, don't tour Glacier by road
If you can spend only a day in Glacier, is it worth the trip? By all means. I've visited all of the major national parks in the fifty states, and Glacier ranks up there at the top for its astounding scenery. Just don't expect much in the way of...

Pros: Beauty like nothing you have ever imagined. Cons: If you don't like road trips this isn't for you
I have been all over the world but I dont believe I have seen a more beautiful place then Montana. Australia is a close rival, but understand there is a difference in how they are beautiful.
Montana is pure, clean, crisp beauty. Glacier...
