Marble Mountains

Pros: Big and beautiful Never crowded California sunshine Limited access to higher elevations Cons: Cowbells Cowpies Cow trampling Cow erosion Cow much more plainly can I say it?
This is a nice recovering area. The trails are pristine where not abused by stock trains. The scenery is varied and interesting. The PCT actually runs through some of the impressive geological attractions of the namesake region. The feeling of the land here is still abused but well into recovery and the area is large enough to absorb cowboy grandad and his bovine onslaughts. I have returned to the area for several dayhikes and have comfortably slept overnight when out of range of cowbells. Try the N fork of the Salmon with your partner for some magic.
