You Can Go Swimming For Free!

by kirsib , Aug 05 '07
Pros: Plenty room and lawns, great clean beach, picnic areas, free to enter.
Cons: No lifeguard, some picnic tables are in bad shape.
My review of Promiseland is mainly of the beach and the playground and picnic areas because I have not seen the camping side. Promiseland is about 45 minutes from us and the road before turning to the picnic area sets the mood! There is huge very ...

Why Camp Anywhere Else?

by migboy , Aug 30 '02
Pros: Lake swimming, wildlife, great variety of campsites, new shower house, cute restaurants nearby. Near I-84.
Cons: Most camping facilities are "primitive". No bike trails. Where are the frickin' fish?
If you've read my other park reviews, you know that we prefer campsites which are wooded, remote feeling, and AWAY from the Winnebagos and trailers. PLSP has four camping areas. They are all nice, but the lakefront area of Pickerel Point campground is...

Many things to do and see at Promised Land.

by drax55 , Jul 30 '01
Pros: Beechwood area very nice for RV's
Cons: Some of the tenting areas are very primitive!
Some improvements have been made recently at Promised Land State Park. The Beechwood area of Lower Lake Camping Area has blacktopped pads that are fairly level and make it easy to set up an RV or pop-up. Electric has been added which was a real plus for...

Promised Land State Park, Pennsylvania: Very Relaxing

by baby.baby , May 18 '01
Pros: little islands, cheap, good snacks, scenic drives
Cons: hm, can't really think of any, it's a park.. nature's nice.
Nestled inside this gorgeous park is a little island at the other side of a bridge. There weren't many people on it at all and the idea of being on an island is nice, even if it isn't faraway and unheard of. The whole park does seem to be in a different...

Best Site I've Been To!
by collegegrl11 ,May 27 '07
Pros: Campstore incase you forget something, sites are spread out and big!
Cons: none!
I have been to a few sites and this was by far the best! I went with my friends and we had a great time! Most of the sites are spread out so everyone isn't on top of eachother. They have park rangers driving around, so you feel safe too. Our site was right on a lake and we had a gorgeous view. I would deffinitly go back and recommend it to anyone!!
