by pilarzmom pilarzmom is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Hotels & Travel, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Nov 14 '08
Pros: stunning views, scenic drive
Cons: road can be scary for some, side effects of high altitude
After making the trip up Mt. Evans at the end of summer, our family decided we'd like to experience the windy road up Pikes Peak, which is the only other 14,000 foot ...

To the top of the mountain: The Pikes Peak Highway to 14,110 feet

by trailhound trailhound is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Hotels & Travel, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Aug 18 '07
Pros: Great views from the top. Adventurous experience. Beautiful landscape in every direction.
Cons: Your last words could be: ''They could've used use a guardrail here''.

The Lofty Heights of Pikes Peak

by Rocketgirl , Dec 19 '99

Cons: Takes 4 hours at least. Not enough oxygen.

A History lesson

It is...

Pikes Peak Country

by Buzzard , Jul 18 '00
Pros: Beautiful, natural, almost free
Cons: Toll road to top, lacking oxygen
Have you ever been a tourist for 10 years? I visited Colorado Springs ten years ago while honeymooning. I was so taken by the weather, people, national landmarks, tourist traps, etc that I decided to stay. Pikes Peak is a national monument that you...
