More fun than the law allows...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fabulous road handling abilities and stylish interior.
Cons: I guess there could be more cup holders...and the sun roof is excessively noisy.
The Bottom Line: No other car under $50,000 will put as big of a smile on your face as a Mini Cooper S. Simply the most fun for the buck by far.

I have a 2003 Mini Cooper S which I purchased new from the local dealer in San Antonio, Texas. At that point in time they were one of the few dealers selling Minis at factory list price -- most were selling them at a premium, especially in California. ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Styling, handling, gas mileage, fun to drive.
Cons: Small back seat, hard to find in a parking lot.
The Bottom Line: I love my car and recommend it to anyone looking for a small 2-door/coupe that is fun to drive.

I purchased a 2003 Mini cooper 2 years ago. I was initially looking for a small car with good gas mileage and I fell in love with the Mini's styling and the way it handled. Unlike some of the other small cars that I have drive, the Mini doesn't leave ...

A fun ride

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great handling, decent economy with five-speed. High on fun factor.
Cons: Dreadful acceleration (base model), quirky electronics, interior chrome.
The Bottom Line: A fun and reliable ride. Enough quirkiness to remind you it's English (although the owner is German).

I have owned a 2003 Mini Cooper for about three years. The car had 19,000 miles on it when I bought it. It is one of the few Minis with GPS navigation and two-tone leather. The car handles like it is on rails. You can park it anywhere, and fit into the ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Handling/quick/eye catcher/roomier then u think/quality/super fun to drive
Cons: Soso gas mileage/weak ac/not perfect sitting position/can get expensive with options
The Bottom Line: Test drive a mini, you buy a mini. it will have you giggling like a kid on a big wheel! Oh wow! Remember those! Lol !

If u drive a mini, u buy a mini, simple as that, and if u don't after driving it, you'll be thinking of it like the stripper or male dancer u gave a dollar to last nite, lol! The car is amazing! I drove a non s model and of course the only difference was ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: stylish, good pick up, good mileage
Cons: almost no trunk, but you should know it is a MINI
The Bottom Line: This car is a delight and dream to drive to drive. I am truly looking forward to my first cross country drive.

Many of the reviews I have read on this and other sites about the Mini were written by people who did not purchase the car but test drove it for the purposes of the review. I did very thorough research and bought a MINI. I have found that the ...

Used 2003 Cooper - Couldn't be more fun!

Pros: Great fun to drive, very spirited performance, awesome handling.
Cons: Road noise, "tight" ride, low A/C output.
I purchased a used 2003 Cooper about a month ago and this is the most fun I've had driving since I learned to drive. The car handles like it's "on rails" and there is no body lean in the corners at all. Basically it goes where you point the wheels, period!

It's unbelievably roomy inside. I'm 6' 2" and feel more comfortable than in my full-size Chevy pickup. It doesn't get the fuel economy that a Prius or Honda Fit does but who cares, those things are downright boring compared to this. In mixed city/highway driving with a fairly "heavy" foot, I'm getting 29-31 mpg.

My only real complaint is that there is a fair amount of road noise, presumably from the low-profile Yokohama tires. But that's probably a reasonable price to pay for the handling. The A/C is a bit wimpy when it's hot out...
