Pros: Three rows with serious off-road capability, smooth quiet ride Cons: High load floor, less agile than Grand Cherokee, third row mostly for kids, blah interior The Bottom Line: I'd like a sportier feel, but very competitive among three-row SUVs. The ride is especially smooth and quiet.
Back in the mid-80s Jeep got a jump on its competitors by launching the first four-door compact SUV in the 1984 model year. GM and Ford took six years to respond, and Jeep sales surged through the 1980s, and continued to grow through the 1990s as the ...

Pros: Safety is first rate and it's very comfortable! Cons: Gas mileage and third row seating is short on leg room. The Bottom Line: I love this car! It's incredible and I am so glad I chose this one!
I’ve had my 2006 Jeep Commander for almost a year now and enjoy it as much today as I did the first day I got it. I feel safe in it and it’s one of the most comfortable vehicles that I’ve ever driven. There are only a few negatives to this vehicle and ...

Pros: Appearance, quietness, 4x4 stability, Price (if you get it on a program.) Cons: Appearance, Price (if you don't get one on a program), Fuel Economy, Smog Output The Bottom Line: Great vehicle if you buy on the right incentive program. Awesome ability to avoid getting stuck in bad conditions and off-road situations. Comfortable seating for a really big family.
I just got a 2006 Jeep Commander. I love this vehicle. Part of the reason I love this vehicle is that it is NOT the vehicle I drove for the past six years: a Dodge Minivan. I would ordinarily not have looked at a vehicle so expensive as this ...

Pros: Uconnect, Hemi, Rear Seat DVD, smooth 4x4, REAL FAST!, value, 0% interest Cons: poor fuel economy The Bottom Line: This is a near luxury 4x4 if you get it decked out. It is a WAY better value then the LR3. Drive one and you'll likely buy one.
We purchased a 2006 Jeep Commander Limited with the 5.7 Litre Hemi 4x4 about two months ago. So far, so good. We traded in a Chevrolet Suburban since it was way too big for my wife to drive. Highlights: 1. The 5.7 L Hemi is a blast to drive. It ...

Pros: Strong for a V6, Uconnect, Moon roof and sun roofs, adjustable pedals Cons: 3rd row seat can lack room for some people. The Bottom Line: I recommend the commander its very comfortable. V6 is good for me I am impressed with its power and I know I'll save on gas.
I bought this 2006 Commander on 4/02/06. I did a trade in for my previous vehicle a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi truck V8 5.7. I've always been an 8 cyl. type of guy. The Commander is a 3.7 V6 I love it. I got it with leather seats and most of the bells and ...

Pros: Big and Bad will go anywhere. Cons: Too many to list, but the biggest is the defective ECM module The Bottom Line: Do not put anyone you care about in one of these!!!
Safe? What a joke that is with this thing, I bought my Commander in 2006 as a demo with 18.000 miles on it. It now has 28.000 on it so I have only put 9.000 miles and three oil changes on it I tell you this because I want you to know how well I take ...

Pros: Versatile, comfortable, reliable, strong, you forget your driving an SUV. Cons: Likes the gas. The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to families because of the roominess, versatility, safety and great features. Paid half of sticker price and Jeep was only 2 years old.
I got our '06 Commander Ltd with 4.7 litre V8 in 2008 used from a JEEP dealer, it had 68000 km on it. Didn't want the HEMI due to poor mileage. We needed V8 as we have travel trailer to pull and the 4.7 is more than strong enough. Very happy ...

Pros: uconnect Cons: too many repairs to list The Bottom Line: I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It has way too many problems, poor gas mileage, isn't as roomy as other SUVs, etc
I've also had the ignition problem another reviewer mentioned, it won't catch and you have to try two or three times. I have the fully loaded 4x4, 5.7l engine with hemi. I've never been able to get even 14 mpg even though I drive like a grandmother. ...

Pros: Goes FAST!
Cons: Noisy-clunky! The Bottom Line: Stay away from this fake Rover!
First, the picture to the left is not that of a Commander. I have the loaded 4x4 with a Hemi. One good thing is that if you need to go FAST...it will GO FAST! Other than that... it's the noisiest vehicle I have ever owned. The front end is clunk ...

Pros: Excellent ride, very smooth, powerful, quiet Jeep. Interior very roomy. Cons: Gas Mileage poor relative to other SUVs. The Bottom Line: I recommend the Commander (if you can accept the MPG) for the legendary Jeep performance, roomy interior, and quiet, smooth ride.
I purchased my new 2006 Commander Limited in Nov 2006, and really enjoyed having it over the past ten months. Mine was fully loaded. I believe the GPS and DVD systems along with all the other bells are worth it if you intend to hang on to the car for a ...

What ever you think you know...I have one 2006 Commander

Pros: Pros
4x4 system
Anti lock
ESP
HEMI POWER
Cons: So....Cons
Gas Milage ( Hemi Power)
dont like the looks...you will be perfect
With a 3rd baby on the way it was out with the Jeep Liberty and in with the Commander. I knew that the Grand Cherokee would not help us out much on space as my mother drives one daily. So give me a Hemi, 3 rows of seats,ESP,side air bags, anti lock, awesome 4 low and all time 4x4 system ( when Jeep says low 4 they mean low 4, wrap it in black keep the cheesy chrome off it and have a good day.
13mpg on average 18mpg if I am a good boy. Yeah gas millage sucks but so does not having enough power to get up MT Pilchuck,Stevens Pass, or the Grape Vine. If you are looking for a dainty "green" vehicle, this is not for you.
If you have a family and want a vehicle that you can get out and enjoy the remote areas of our awesome land, and not have to worry about getting there or back, this Jeep is for you.
Awesome in snow, Rain, and mud. The owners manual states not to exceed 20 inches in water...oops I went 48...With no problem at all
Cheers
