Pros: Easy to install, the best PCI you can get for PCI-limited folk.
Cons: Not exactly an AGP-substitute, still lags and is DirectX 8.
Feeling sad that I heard that PCI video cards are the worst for gaming, and that my low-end computer was strictly limited to PCI's, I went and got it anyway (since it looked like the best PCI you can get in the market, and it is as of 2005!) I had to ...

DirectX 8.1
I am writing this review because when I spent a week researching what PCI slot video cards were capable of, there weren't any reviews that flat out said "Hey, buy this card, it will work for you" so here it is. I am running a pentium 4- 3ghz with 1gb of ...

For what it is, its a great card
by pacow ,May 19 '05
Pros: Great for a PCI card, Playable game framerates, everyday tasks done well. Cons: Can not Max out game settings, skips on video sometimes, ATi fileplayer a slight annoyance.
For being a plain PCI card, this card does the job quite well. PCI cards are not meant for gaming at all, and finding a good card for a PCI slot can be hard if you want to do some intense gaming. The 256mb ATi 9250 does everyday tasks well, though does skip on video occasionally and slightly. I was amazed that this card can actually deliver some playable framerates in today's most graphic- intensive games, such as Half-Life 2. In Counter-Strike: Source, I can get a steady, playable 30 frames per second (FPS). In conclusion, one of the best cards you can get for a PCI slot.

BF2 - Too Bad Soo Sad - ATI regrets not having a fix
by usgrant7 ,Aug 06 '06
Pros: ATI + BF2 = Great excuse to buy another game. Cons: ATI - BF2 = About 200 bucks flushed down the toilet.
If you paid big bucks for your graphics card and dream combat sim, BattleField 2, and you bought an ATI - 9250, then you just waisted your money and the BF2 people feel real sorry about that, but they aint gonna fix nuthen... (English language fo-pa - asside)
Even with the nice game graphics on the cover of the card, ATI regrets to inform you that you must buy another game. The BF2 people regret that you must buy another graphics card. Oh well...
The looser is the consumer. Keep those cards and letters coming, cause your game is going to blue screen your PC every time you try to launch.
