ATI REMOTE WONDER (100-712001) Remote Control

Cons: small buttons, bulky, yet another remote to loose

The Remote Wonder came with my Radeon 7500 TV, it controls all the multimedia functions of the ATI Media Center flawlessly. Vendor support is extensive as well. Many multimedia applications offer support for the Remote Wonder out of the box. You can control a computer screen with the Remote Wonder moving the mouse cursor.

The range is exceptional. My only real complaint with the Remote Wonder is that the buttons are too small.

Pros: Easy to use, works with Media Player.
Cons: Optimized for ATI All-In-Wonder

This Remote Control is remarkably powerful, as well as extensible.

One cursor pad is a mouse control, with left and right buttons. The other works as a standard cursor pad. The remote itself knows when it's supposed to be a remote control, and when it's supposed to be a mouse, keyboard, or cursor pad.

ATI also makes an API (Application Programmer's Interface) for building Windows solutions that make use of the Remote.

It's easily installed, by simply loading the CD and plugging in the transponder into a powered USB port.

Pros: Direction pad to replace a mouse, numerous buttons
Cons: Radio connection is awful, buttons have bad press action

This remote control is really worthless. It's billed as having a long range which even works through walls etc. The reality is that it barely has a 6 foot range, beyond which it sometimes works to a degree if you hold the remote at just the right angle.

There is absolutely no chance whatsoever that it will work through walls. Expect it to have dramatically inferior range and functionality to infra-red remote controls.
