Amana ADB2200AWS Stainless Steel 24 in. Built-in Dishwasher

Pros: A fine dishwasher if you can get it open. Love the delay wash function.
Cons: Handle broke.

I have owned this dishwasher for just over one year, July 2004. I purchased it when my kitchen was remodeled last year and only began to really use it after my daughter was born in April 2005 and the bottles began to pile up. Imagine my surprise when the handle that opens the dishwasher (an important component in a dishwasher) began to stick and then broke in October 2005. I called Amana and of course the labor warranty had run out (one year) so I am stuck having to pay to fix this obviously defective part. I purchased this dishwasher for $457, in hindsight I could have taken the $127 Amana wants to charge me to "diagnois" the problem and upgraded to a Kitchenaid.
