This TV does not have a sharp picture and the left side and bottom of the picture are cut off.
I submitted a support question from the APEX website (http://www.apexdigitalinc.com/) on December 1 and have not received a response...although their commitment is 72 hours.
Quality control seems to be a problem. I returned the first one I purchased, and the second one is a little better but still a poor picture.

Any advice to someone thinking of buying this television: don't. Upon shipping, it came with problems. Aside from the picture quality not being that great and not worth this hassle in the first place, and TV does not turn on and off properly - and sometimes can't at all. Sometimes I plug it in and it doesn't want to turn on, and sometimes I turn it on, there is no picture, and it does not want to turn off. Do yourself a favor and find a TV that was not made to look pretty so people buy it.

Bought for $129 at Albertson's (perhaps a lesson to be learned there about buying TVs at supermarkets?). Seemed OK for the money for half a year, though picture/sound were hardly state-of-the-art in terms of either clarity or general verisimilitude. Used infrequently as backup system; did the job of a one-eye bedroom TV. Turned it on for football game three hours after watching kickoff of previous game and got NO response...dead as a doornail. Warranty for service is 90 days (parts a year), as I was advised when I called the toll-free tech, who said it "might be a board problem," obviously speaking from experience. I will take to the repairman for an estimate, but suspect this is bound for the junk heap. SOMETHING tells me quality control at Apex is not exactly on the par of Lexus?

I bought this as a second TV for the bedroom. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a "good" TV. I was impressed with the configuration for the price point. The remote is really bad, I do like the SCAN feature, which you press the SCAN button, and it will flip through the channels for you. (A couch potatoe's dream).

All my friends that have seen it in last few weeks, say the picture is awesome. I still don't have the proper cable hooked up to it, it should get better.

The reason I bought this TV is the price and what you get. I compared other models with component inputs, flat screen, etc, and they were all minimum $300 (CAN)


You get what you pay for, and this is a cheap solution for a second TV. I was not going to spend 400 - 600 for a TV that will only be watched once in a while.

I also purchased this TV from Costco in Canada ($159.99) as a second TV. Took it home and plugged it in to my cable, DVD and Sega Dreamcast.

Turned it on, and the picture was half height and tilted. Changed to DVD input, Sega input, but no difference. Turned off, then on again. Picture shrank to a single line across the screen. I could hear the sound just fine, so it wasn't the inputs.

Guess the picture tube is shot on this one. Taking it back tomorrow to see if I have better luck with a different set.

Just a warning that this TV may have quality control issues.

I purchased this TV from Costo (in Canada) for only $159.99 plus tax. This is an amazing buy for a true flat screen TV set.

The TV has amazing quality. When you turn it on, you will find the colours too rich on the default settings, but you can easily adjust to please your taste. The quality in S-Video is superb. It looks much nicer than a Panasonic Tau TV I also have.

The Tuner is fine and the quality is OK as well. The channel surfing is not extremely fast, but you will get used to it.

Sound (stereo) is great as well. There's suround modes that will sometimes make you think that there's more than just 2 speakers.

The only drawback I found that that when you use video as your main source (digital cable or SAT) you will find that the TV will always default to cable mode everytime you power it on. You can get around this by purchasing a learning remote with macro capabilities.

Also the standard remote has very awkward numeric keys.

Other than that, it's a great buy for the price !

I have wanted a flat screen tv for quite some time. Being a college student on a tight budget I found a very good price for this tv. Worked great until small lines began to appear on the top of the screen, these lines have now extended down about a quarter length of the screen. Of coarse this is extremely annoying while watching.
Worst of all this literally happened a week out of their so called warranty!!
This is the very last time I go with this brand, guess I learned you get what you pay for.
