Pros: Inputs, Picture Quality, Value for Price, Flat Screen Cons: Factory Settings Terrible, Sound only OK, fuzzy corners
Well, the time had come to replace the old TV. Our old Sony 32" XBR had finally kicked the bucket -- it developed a horrible pincushion in the picture overnight. It was fairly expensive to fix so we decided to store it until we could get it fixed later. ...

Pros: pic qual very good. Outstanding value. Cons: cheesy remote--no back light. Takes 5-10 seconds to turn on. Heavy.
Ok, the 32" Sony was 10 years old, and when it died for good, I started looking for a cheap replacement. I already have an HDTV in the basement for "serious" viewing, so I wanted something for the family room to replace the Sony with a decent picture ...

Pros: Hard to beat this. A 32" flat screen for $350! Excellent picture quality. Decent sound. Cons: No remote codes for DVD and cable box, illuminated remote, individual picture adjusments per input.
Originally saw this at Circuit City for $499 and ignored it because they had a JVC with more features for $539. One week later (while still in my decision process) it had dropped to $349 at CC. Went home searched for reviews, found none, said what the ...

APEX 32" TV is BAD BUY
by stixsloan ,Sep 04 '06
Pros: nice picture, easy remote; was a good price when bought, seems good value at first Cons: bad audio; bad audio board with ZERO customer service by manufactuer APEX.
Purchased APEX 32" PF3230 in Oct 04 from Best Buy. 10 months later audio goes out, I'm thinking it was something my 7 yr old did w/ the remote. NOPE. It's a bad audio board. By the time I realized this, Best Buys says it out of warranty that I have to find a service center. Closest one to Austin TX is in Houston 180 miles away. I find a local TV guy to repair - he's been trying to get ahold of APEX now for over 1 year and still no luck in finding out what the cost of the audio board will be to replace it.
My time & money on this would have been better spent on a more expensive competitor, who's name sounds like ba-loney. I forked over $500 for a TV that is now worthless unless you're deaf and watch TV using closed captioning only. DO NOT BUY AN APEX TV at any cost.

by roachmotel3 ,Dec 06 '03
Pros: Amazing price, great performance Cons: Remote doesn't always respond to input
I just hooked one up I got from circuit city last night for $350, and man am I impressed. The picture quality with S-video and component inputs is great, and you can't beat the price.

Seemingly good deal, but NOT SO!
by ajna ,Aug 31 '06
Pros: Nothing that I can see. Cons: Bad Warranty. Not so good customer service.
I don't watch much TV and I don't play video games, but I do however like to put in a good movie once and a while. I found this TV and it was a great deal. Around the 18month of owning the TV the screen gave out. So I decided to get it fixed. The micro and eprom (sp?) were what burned out causing the problem. The repair center here said that the parts would cost $154. I agreed to the price. A couple of days later I get a call stating that the parts are not available separately, the entire board that they are part of needs to be replaced ($454)!!!! Needless to say I will not repair the TV, and I have called Apex, and there is nothing they can do because It happened outside the 1yr warranty.

Great for the price!
by pmb61 ,Sep 03 '04
Pros: PRICE!!! This is at Sam's Clubs for $299!! Cons: This thing is HEAVY!!!
This was purchased to replace a tv in our master bedroom! Purchased this for the price of most 27 inch models!I found this at Sams Club for $299. This was purchased as a replacement for a bedroom unit.Unit is 33 1/2 inch wide and 26 inches high. It is 22 inches deep. Picture seems fine once you adjust it . There is also an input on the left side of the set , which would be useful for a video game or a camcorder/digital camera feed.In Sams Club , the 3 year extended warranty is $39 and something I felt well worth the price since this is not a name brand .
UPDATE This worked for one day ! It was set up to shut off with the sleep timer and now it will not wake up! The on light comes on , a click is heard but no picture or sound! Glad I got the extended warranty, looks like many problems ahead. This will be returned this week!
