1Ghz eMac w/SuperDrive a Fantastic All-In-One Machine

by bstieritz , Sep 14 '03
Pros: Bright/Crisp, 17-inch, true-flat screen monitor, great software package, lightening-fast G4 processor, very inexpensive. Fantastic tech-support.
Cons: History of monitor problems, so-so keyboard and mouse, will need to purchase external speakers.
Hello fellow mac addicts, I'm mainly writing this review for those who may just be curious about the new 1ghz emac or deciding whether it might be for you . . . I also feel it my karmic duty to post my first impressions because I couldn't find a damn ...

Why first time users should own an eMac

by pgtech , Nov 21 '04
Pros: Big CRT display, Built-In Speakers, Lots of Ports, Inexpensive
Cons: Heavy, HD/Combo drive not accessible
The eMac is one of the best bargain computers anyone can buy. I work on Macs and PCs for a living, and to be honest, in the beginning the eMac didn't impress me. The new iMac always got my attention with its slick design and flat LCD screen. However, ...

Best PC for the money; business or school

by quickanddirty , Oct 07 '03
Pros: affordable, easy to use, easy to set up, great mac applications
Cons: Not enough factory memory, no expansion slots
I bought my eMac because I needed a new PC for school/work/play. My current clamshell iBook; G3, 333 mhZ, 6 GB, 12", simply was not cutting it anymore in the productivity department. I did look around at Dell's, Gateway's and HP's only to find that ...

Great for the kids

by mkaake , Dec 14 '07
Pros: Can still handle most of iLife '08, 10.4, etc.
Cons: Radeon 7500, USB1.1, Ram prices increasing.
I've been working with this model of eMac for almost 4 years now, and am constantly amazed at what you can (still) do with it. Along the way I've made a few upgrades which have kept it usable even with 10.4 and iLife '08. The machine itself is a tank, ...

Great computer

by solidruslan666 , Jun 04 '04
Pros: Everything. Profits don't go to Bill Gates
Cons: Only 1 optical drive. Not very upgradeable
I customized my emac before I bought it so the specs on this site might be different from what I have. I have a g4 processor with 1.25 ghz, 1 gb of ram, 160 gb ultra ata hard drive, and a radeon 9200 32 mb video card. The ram is in huge amounts and the ...

The eMac. Another resounding success

by qualco99 , Nov 22 '03
Pros: Easy to use, fast, and beautiful!
Cons: none
I was given my wonderful eMac for a birthday gift last year, and I have been delightedly using it ever since. Not once have I even had any glitches to deal with. It is without any doubt a superior machine. It is comparable to the iMac, only faster, ...

eMac part two
by mjrowswim ,Nov 29 '04
Pros: A great computer for the price.
Cons: Not great for gamers.
I recently bought my second eMac, since the first one was starting to show signs of needing a new analog board (a repair I was told was a common problem with the first generation of eMacs).
OS 10.3 is much better, faster, and cooler than 10.1. The graphics are still excellent, and with the addition of Safari, Mac's own browser, I could surf the web all day. The new version of iPhoto is also way better than the old one.

Fun for the entire Family!
by shifty270 ,Apr 24 '05
Pros: Affordable and Reliable. Perfect if you have multi-users.
Cons: No screen savers in Login Screen.
I knew that when I buy a computer, my family will be all over it. I already had bad experience with sharing multiple users with a windows machine, all the viruses, spyware, adware that mainly targetting vunerable windows. However with OS X, I can control everything. I tried to find loop-holes in the OS X when using an account with limited privelage and I couldnt find none, however, compared to Windows XP, it was easy to get around its user restrictions.

I mainly bought the eMac because it was the best alternative to a laptop. Its cheaper & faster than a laptop for its price of the same specs. Its safer and reliable compared to PCs. Also the OS X is perfect for my family who are still beginning to learn how to use the computer.
