Pros: Looks positively gorgeous, screen is perfect, intelligent click-wheel & software design, integrates flawlessly with OS-X. Cons: Obviously the big con... it's $500, Adobe photo software for PC worse than Apple's-iPhoto.
Apple iPod Photo 40GB MSRP: $499 ----- You've come a long way, baby! ----- I wasn't going to do it. There was no need. I have a perfectly useful 20GB
3rd Generation iPod that does ...
Pros: Portability, lots of cool features, storage capacity - 40 GB Cons: Only available in white, sound quality can be better, no video player
I've had my IPOD photo for about 2 weeks now and let me tell you, I am definitely hooked! My boyfriend bought me the IPOD photo as a Christmas gift and when it arrived it came in a package that makes you feel secure about the contents inside. Apple ...
Pros: light, compact, elegant, click wheel is a good idea. Cons: easily scratched, itunes doesn't work well in Windows, installation was difficulat on XP.
This is my fifth MP3 players. Of the five, one is a flash memory based (Creative Nomad II), 2 are CD-based, and the other being Archos 20gb studio 20. I didn't really wanted to buy iPod, but when buy.com had a real low priced sale ($339), I bit the ...
Pros: Superb sound quality. Well designed -- easy and fun to use. Cons: Surface picks up small scratches.
I've always thought the iPod would be a cool thing to have, but I resisted. After all, I didn't really need one -- my pocket sized Firewire hard drive works great for computer backups, and … well, I don't really listen to music that much anymore. I'll ...
Pros: Features galore! Great sound, great display, super status symbol Cons: Hard to keep clean, prone to scratching the case, expensive
I decided that I needed to have my MP3 collection portable. I was pretty torn until I saw that Apple was coming out with the iPod Photo. Being able to have all my music and all my photos with me was really the clincher for me. The screen is about ...
Pros: Light, easy to use, beautiful design, holds enormous amounts of music and addresses. Cons: Silver back scratches too easy; some reported problems with XP synching
I would have been happy with the pink Mini, but my husband got me the 40GM iPod and I gotta say that I love it beyond the telling. Some people have complained about problems synching with XP, but I didn't have any problems. Loaded right up and let me ...
Pros: All the pros of the regular iPod. Color screen. Cons: Can ONLY see photos loaded from a computer running iTunes or iPhoto (iLife).
So I will be the one who explains the truth about the wondrous iPod Photo since it seems everyone is only interested in writing about how enthralled they are with it (minus its exceeding price tag and its vulnerability to scratches.) To start I will ...
Pros: color screen, sound, battery life, PHOTOS MAN!!! Cons: sometimes the pad starts to just blank out.
The Apple iPod Photo 40 GB MP3 Player is the most pleasent system I have had for music yet. It has a beautiful color screen, a nice charging/battery life span system. The iPod Photo has a back light, which helps a lot, and has the option of how long you ...
Pros: Cool color screen. easy to use, 15 hour of battery Cons: scratch easy
After looking for months for a mp3 just made for me i came across the iPod. Reading reviews and comparing i found that the ipod photo 40GB was the best way to go. I bought it at best buys for $450. Got it home a set it up. it was easy to do i was ...
When it comes to purchasing technology, I am anal. I obsessed for months over what mp3 player I should buy and it took me forever to justify Apple's ipod. I settled on the ipod because of the click wheel, itunes and just the overall sexiness of the ...
Pros: Fantastic Interface, great look. Cons: Fancy looks and price for a simple music player
Honestly, if you want to get a comparable machine for a better price, you can probably do it. To be frank, I would not have purchased this, given the price and multitude of other mp3 players on the market. However, I managed to get mine for free through ...
Pros: I tunes worked nicely Cons: XP and this unit not compatible.
Open this unit on Christmas and installed the i-tunes and i-pod unit. After uploading a bunch of music to my computer hardrive, the torment began. Supposedly the plug and play nature of this unit was supposed to directly transfer music to Ipod...NOT THE ...
Pros: Incredible amount of storage Cons: A little expensive
I got my 60 Gig iPod Photo the first day they came available. Being a photographer, I wanted more storage space to bring photos to clients. The best part for photos is the included cable that attaches directly to a television. The built in software fills the screen with the images directly from the iPod and you can play music at the same time through the TV.
With the extra hard drive space, I have imported all of my music at Apple's Lossless quality; when used with the Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones the music quality is outstanding.
One additional feature I found helpful is the bookmark. This will mark where you left off listening to an audio book so you can start from that spot when you resume. Most downloads from iTunes and Audible are compatible with this feature, but it you get an audio book that isn't, there is a free utility on the web that can make it compatible.
If you have the money to spend, I highly recommend the iPod Photo.
iPod...Now Showing in Color! by kuebby ,May 01 '05
Pros: Color screen, 40gb size, better battery life Cons: Thicker than other ipods, still easy to scratch
This is my second iPod. I got an ipod photo after my 10gb 3rd gen died and was no longer covered by warranty. My first recommendation for anyone who buys an ipod is buy the extended warranty! This is extremly important. The color screen on these is also a very nice thing. It makes looking at the screen to do simply anything, much nicer. Also always use a case, the ipod will scratch very easily.
Pros: Sleek, light, lots of memory, durable Cons: The battery could last longer
I have had the Ipod for 4 months now and I love it. I mostly use it at the Gym and it works fab. I am going sailing to Greece in a few weeks and will use it to listen to books and music while on the beach, on the plane, on the sail boats etc. Can't wait
