Pros: Huge screen, good feel, not-too-bad firmware, movie/photo playback capability Cons: Joystick is a little bit fragile
MY STORY Guess it's time for another review, huh? :) I got this Archos AV320 about 8 months ago. I chose it because it had the ability to play back movies, show pictures, and play music. Its ability to record from a line-in or internal mic ...
Pros: Good sound and Video, Easy to use, well though out product Cons: Price
This review only covers the TIVO to Archos video recording functionality of this device. I had been waiting for a portable DVR for a long time now and Archos has come through with a good product. The reason I bought the Archos was that I wanted to be ...
Pros: Multi media entertainment center in your pocket. Mac friendly. Intuitive operation. Very high cool factor. Cons: Camera needs lens cap. Built in Battery can't be switched out. Customer service SUCKS.
I purchased the Archos AV320 about two months ago because of the many tools, one compact machine factor and for the fact that Archos is Macintosh friendly. I finally received the AVCam 300 attachment a couple of weeks ago. My overall impression of ...
Pros: Great screen in low light, remote control, battery life Cons: No kickstand; screen washed out easily; only one bookmark stored; no case
I've had the opportunity to play with my AV320 for about 2 weeks and compare it to a Lyra RD2780. There are definite trade offs between the two units, but depending on what you intend to do with the unit, it might be a better decision to go with the ...
Pros: Video, Music, pictures, Screen, options, memory, easy to use, remote control... Cons: Price, battery life, size and no case.
I bought the AV340 before christmas and I love it. I primarily bought it because I wanted to be able to take music from my computer and play the songs through my main stereo in another room. The reason that I chose this product was because it had the ...
Pros: Huge Memory
Video Is Incredible
Camera Attachment is Useful Cons: Questionable Battery Life
Poor Song Selection Software
Limited Encryption Compatibility
I've had my Archos AV320 for over a year now and have come to both love it and hate it. Here's the good: 1) Memory - I just don't get anyone who wants a mb MP3 player. While you might want it for size, there's something to be said about carrying ...
Everyone else on the net is getting around 3 hours video playback time, which is about what most portable DVD players get. Not to mention this isn't a Desktop unit, so why in the world would you compare it to some crappy Dell desktop computer? I'd ...
Pros: great screen & color, lotsa HD room, versatile usage. It's Cons: kinda bulky, battery life
The first handheld multimedia device was Archos' own Jukebox Multimedia 20, a device I owned for over a year and it served me well--until I got the AV320! It's quite an improvement in many ways (although, lamentably, not in battery life. but that can ...
Pros: Audio and Video quality, size Cons: Loading Times, Washing out of screen
I had purchased the AV320 prior to getting the AV420 for free - more about that in a bit. The AV320 was a great player for it's time. Well, times have changed. The new AV420 comes with substantial improvements over the previous model. It has a smaller, ...
AV320 is great while your spouse is shopping! by dangray ,Jan 08 '04
Pros: Great video and sound quality, good battery life. Cons: A bit expensive, only 90 day warranty.
Owning a Tivo, I wanted a digital video recorder that I could take with me on a trip or while my wife was shopping I could stay in the car! This fits the bill. It attaches to your tv, vcr, dvd player or DirecTV box using the standard RCA jacks. It records in real time, so when you're done recording you can watch the show right away without the device having to process the data. Of course it's also an MP3 player, external hard drive, and it can store and show off your digital photos. The device is a bit expensive, but if you're hooked on TV, you'll love it! AND if your into mods, I've seen websites that show you how to take the standard IDE laptop hard drive out and replace with a larger one!
Pros: Plays video, pictures and sound, decent screen Cons: Short battery life, not easy to use, poor support
The Archos AV300/320 holds a lot of promise as an all-in-one entertainment center that lets you play video, audio, photos, and more. But for the amount of money that can get you a decent Dell or Gateway PC with a 15-inch LCD monitor, the implementation is rather poor. First of all the documentation is rather inadequate. Your second impression would be how "cheap" the device looks upon unwrapping. Don't expect your friends to go "wow" when they see it, although the big screen, when turned on, can get their attention. The big screen, however, drains the built-in LiIon battery fast; I've never been able to watch a complete movie (in fact, not even half a movie!) on one charge. So don't expect to pack this with you luggage so you can watch a feature film on your next flight. Finally, customer support is rather poor. When you buy a Ferrari you get royal treatment. This thing costs like a Ferrari compared to products from RCA and Sony, but they treat you like you just paid for a Huyndai.
