Pros: Reasonable price - excellent sound quality for the price Cons: Large (is that a con?) - might be too much speaker for some amps.
Note: This review also briefly mentions the Athena AS-C1 center channel speaker. Also, I originally had these listed as the AS-F1s in my title. They are the AS-F2s. I didn't notice the mistake when I published the review. Hopefully, I didn't cause ...
Pros: Accurate sound, build quality, price Cons: None that I have found
I am a music, and more recently, a home theater, lover. I'm a regular working person on a budget like most of you, so I have usually have to make my buying decisions for music and home theater based on good sound, balanced by a budgeted amount. I ...
Pros: Audiophile-quality sound in an attractive package and a bargain basement price! Cons: They're big and heavy. But what high quality floorstanding speaker isn't?
Time for Speaker Shopping I have to admit, I was surprised to discover Best Buy carrying Athena Technologies Audition series speakers. Best Buy carries some nice equipment, but Athena's speakers are relative unknowns compared to the big boys ...
Pros: Great Stereo Imaging, Good Value, Built Well, Look Nice Cons: Not Much Bass, Heavy & May Need Some Help Moving
When upgrading from my small Harman Kardon cube speakers to these babies, I noticed an overall gain in stereo imaging and separation. These units are tall and heavy (41.5" tall and 51 lbs each). They come with a 1" tweeter and Dual 8" woofers to provide ...
Athena AS F2 Tower Speakers by badbusiness ,Nov 11 '04
Pros: Speakers might sound good Cons: Unable to play because Athena won't repair!
I recently purchased (11-02) a pair of Athena AS F2 Towers only to find out they were damaged. When I talked to the retailer where they were purchased they gave me a number to contact Athena in Buffalo, N.Y.. When I did I was told the part would be sent that day. 9 days went by and I contacted them again but was told the part wasn't sent and to contact the office in Canada. After contacting the office in Canada ( Joe Frazer) I was told I now needed to fax a copy of my receipt to them after I had already done this for N.Y. & the retailer contacted them. Needless to say I have a pair of speaker I now have to repair myself if I want to listen to them. Athena and the retailer won't repair my F2, isn't that great... Just beware of these so called Canadian speakers (made in China) because the customer service dept & warranty is no good!
