Waste of money, at any price... DON'T BUY

by bestofbucknell , Dec 29 '03
Pros: Weather Proof Case, Nice (although small) LCD screen
Cons: Doesn't play MP3s, Eats batteries, comparably poor sound quality, false advertising (mp3)
(Read this review, I give you my suggestion at the end) I recently purchased this CD player from Best Buy as a Christmas present for my little brother. I purchased it as an MP3 player, since he already owns a regular CD player. After creating some ...

Manufacturer won't even own up to making this

by whackjob , Dec 22 '04
Pros: Cheap, acceptable output after replacing headphones, sturdy
Cons: Cheap, poor labeling, non-universal port, useless headphones, no product support, no clip or holder
I got this unit several months ago and have had no end to the problems this thing has caused. If you replace the poorly designed headphones that come with it (that have terrible sound and are about as comfortable as ice picks in your ears) then it has an ...

Buy Stock in Duracell
by djemeek ,Dec 27 '03
Pros: Everything works
Cons: Extremely short battery life, no AC adapter
The features are good. The sound isn't bad. Everything seems to be working. Unfortunately, it goes through batteries like crazy. It has a port for an AC adapter, but I can't find one that's compatible. Even the universals don't work with this player. So, it's fairly useless unless you plan to only take short trips with it or happen to always carry spare batteries.

SUITE YOURSELF
by giten ,Jul 28 '04
Pros: Probably good for 3-5 years old babies, just for biting and banging.
Cons: Bulky. Poor and weak sound, no AM radio. CD cover Locking Clip suspiciously weak
I've bought two mp3 players - SONY DNS707F for $89.99 and
Audiophase CDT432M for $49.99. First I checked on all features Sony and was impressed beyond my imagination: despite average quality reception of radio FM/AM/TV feature ( I have to mention that TV reception was the best)the quality and power of the sound are SUPERB, specially when playing MP3 music files (192kbps/44Khz recording rate/frequency mode). And this Solid and Elegant CD cover locking system - you feel it's like made for high level of abuse withstanding! It looks and feels like a futuristic super weapon in your hand.
Same tests I did with Audiophase CDT432M. And...
Forget about it!!!
CDT432M - Rubber coat for better grip and bite, probably part-water resistant, programming features, FM radio. Remote control.
Very weak and distorted, poor quality amplifier with very narrow range crossover filters - it's like listening low quality AM station on third party OEM manufacturer radio.By the way no radio AM option, which , probably wouldn't hurt to have you know, Radio Disney and so on)..
Conclusion:
For $40 more bucks you suddenly find yourself magically transferred from third hand, half alive bicycle on to Super Sonic, High Altitude JET!

More good than bad on this Player (CDT432M)
by imaspaceguy90 ,Dec 29 '04
Pros: rechargeable,very durable,sounds great,cheap,bass boost, antiskip,mp3 compatible
Cons: Heavyish, hard to open the cd compartment, little big,lcd screen sorta small shows all info needed
Well i just got mine in the mail, i bought it for trips and stuff, i found some spare rechargeable AA's laying around, and a 6V charger from an old digital camera, and this CD player last for a couple of hours, my only complaints and the ones you can only find on this system are as follows:

1.When i move my CD player, the FM radio gets messed up.
2. the CD player lip plastic peices that keeps the player closed is hard as heck to open,
3. the wieght is not the lightest, but its durabilty and weather resistance is outstanding.

this player is great cause:
1 mp3 compatable
2 the sound is great, the stock headphones suck, and have no quality.
3 batery compartment is inside
built in charger so you never have to take your rechargeable batterys out, just put the charger in the port.
4, this thing has actaully dropped in water before, the rubber edging, and how it seals itself when you close the player.
5.has an extra bass boost feature,
6. antiskip

when you first ge tthe player , buy new earphones, thats why everyone hates the sound quality, cuz the earphones suck.

Not Very Sporty
by ohno6345 ,Jan 03 '05
Pros: Comes with good headphones that are extended and have their own control settings.
Cons: Skips easily, radio has poor reception, burns through batteries FAST, batteries underneath CD inside.
I bought this CD player about a year ago, seeing that it said Ultra Sport and Never Skip. I haven't found it to be any better than any other CD player I've had. It works fine in a gym when its stationary, but I've tried jogging with it in a jogging pouch, and it completely gives out after about 10 seconds of jogging. You then have to take the batteries out and put them back in. Which is very annoying because the batteries are stored inside the player underneath the CD. My CD player is only playing for about half an hour now, before I have to replace the batteries. Off brand batteries and Panasonic batteries supply enough power for the radio, but not CD. Hard case prevents scratches, but its slightly oversized and hard to fit in pockets. When I get the money, I'm just gonna get an Ipod, and be done with CD players altogether.

My BEST cd player
by toiletweasle ,Oct 06 '05
Pros: It is cheap, durable, sound is awsome, and very efficient when it comes to power.
Cons: is a little bulky
I brought this cd player after a whole bunch of my others broke after just a few weeks of use, that was 3 YEARS AGO! I have literaly taken this thing around the world, dropping it many times along the way, and it still works like it was new. It has very convenient button placements so you never have to look when changing settings and it is VERY durable. I have dropped it from a story high and the only thing that happened in the whole 3 years is I have to press a little harder on the skip button. the sound quality is great and is loud so I can take off the headphones and listen to it with others. And because it is so cheap, this is definately a must buy.
