What a disappointment!.
After one movie on it,I was thrilled with the graphics and looked forward to bring it on my trips
I was unable to play anything else and unfortunatly ,I waited until one of my friends could take a look at it in case I was not operating it properly.
When I called the company,several months later,the lady I spoke with told me it was a]definitly defective,b]out of warranty,c]it would cost a minimum of ninety three dollars to fix . Since I have used it exactly once,I am very disappointed and will never purchase from that company again ,Liz2

My husband and I bought this dvd player and it is outstanding. We have used it several times and it didn't overhead at all. The picture is perfect and the sound is great with or without headphones. I am very happy with this unit.

I bought this DVD player at Costco, and was at first a little skeptical. But it turned out to be a great buy. The value is absolutely unbeatable. The player includes a 7'' LCD screen, remote control, more wires and chargers that you know that to do with, and a sleek design (when the battery is detached). The only flaw I can find in the player is that it can't scan forward or back, it can only skip scenes or go back to scenes. Also, I took this player on a airplane trip from Boston to San Francisco and even amid the bumpiest flight i have ever flown, it never even skipped. I highly, highly recommend this DVD player.

The player does exactly what it claims to do. It's a solid machine. Not lots of bells and whistles but it works great at an affordable price.

I bought this player for my wife to use on a 10 day trip to see the grandkids. She enjoyed being able to listen to her music and watch her DVD's on the plane and during a four hour layover. However, when she got to her destination she found that playing it for several hours, showing the grandkids picture cd's and movies, caused it to get very hot. At one point she had to turn it off because she was afraid it would "melt." On her trip home she tried to play it and it would not load any of her discs. I checked it and made sure the battery was fully charged and found the same thing.
Bottom line: We took it back to the retailer for a refund and intend on getting another brand next time we purchase one.

My wife and I recently bought one to bring with us to Cancun for our daughter. I was able to get it at BJ's.
The flight was about 4 hrs and we had the player on for 2-3 hrs of the trip with no issues. The player never seemed to get that hot.

Screen quality seems pretty good. I have no compliants about the quality. Its really hard to find a 7" screen for the price we got it for. Sound is not bad,

Once we arrived, we were able to use the available RF cables to hook it up to the TV in the hotel. So, basically we could play any movies we wanted for our daughter.

We first purchased the Audiovox D1705 Portable DVD player to take on a trip at Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, it stopped working after the first DVD. It would get stuck and not continue playing the disc. We exchanged it for another player of the same make and three weeks later this one won't load the disc. I suggest another brand to anyone looking to purchase a portable DVD player. It's too bad really, because the picture (when we saw one) was good.

Cons: Haven't found any yet, someone wrote about the scan feature, so that could be one.

I have been in the market looking for a great player and an amazing price. Well I got mine from QVC ~ $248.00 and it came with mounting kit, carry case, 2 head phones (work very well too), all the cables, car adapter, remote and battery that attaches to the bottom ~ not bulky or heavy when it's on.
Unbelievable price for a 7" screen.
Picture is clear, sound it good, LOW TO NO SOUND from the disc spinning, easy to use with TV at home.
Very pleased with the purchase.

Cons: Battery won't last the length of movie. Additional battery from dealer is $100.

I purchased the Audiovox 1705 about a month age. The only complain I have is the battery life. The battery does not last for the length of an average movie, and to make matters worst Audiovox sells additional battery for $100.
