Pros: Inexpensive complete system for laptop and desktop. Easy installation. Small design. Cons: Moderate wireless range, runs a little warm, no parental controls.
The Belkin Wireless Home Network Kit may not be the latest, top of the line system available, but it a great solution for the average computer user. This particular system contains everything you need to connect a stationary desktop and a mobile laptop ...
Pros: Price is great. Easy to set up. Very stable. Cons: Doesn't have many advanced functions/settings
The router doesn't offer a lot of advanced settings and features, but it is very stable and very easy to set up and use. I really like the case design of these Belkin routers. Unfortunately, the version that I got doesn't have a vertical mount like some ...
Pros: The ease of setting up this product is amazing. Cons: It doesn't work well in a multi-story home.
I bought this product because I had just purchased a laptop and wanted to use it in my house without any restrictions. I purchased it from a home shopping network via their online store. I use this device for my regular personal computer and laptop. ...
Pros: Price Cons: Difficult to use with Windows Vista
I have been using the Belkin Router for now, one year and I have had many problems with it so far. First of all, the router is very easy to install and very easy to set up, but if by any chance you ...
Pros: Price, Decent signal quality, easy setup Cons: Forces you to use the setup wizard, kinda ugly, small LEDs and small lettering
I bought this router to upgrade my 802.11b stuff and because the previous wireless-G router I bought bricked before I ever finished setting it up. This was the next cheapest name brand unit at the local potato store.
The setup is pretty straight forward and trouble-free.
I don't like the setup wizard program. I'd rather just plug in my settings and go.
The signal quality is much better than my old 802.11b router, but I don't have another 802.11g router for a fair comparison.
I have to reboot this router several times a day, since it drops the connection. My computer can see the router but cannot connect to it. The range is very poor.
Pros: Compact; includes keyhole mounts for wall installation Cons: No way to talk to the router through a web browser.
As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. I just needed a cheap wireless hub to share a dial-up connection with my desktop and laptop. No such luck here... there is no way to log into this router and hence no way to set anything that the "Wizard" doesn't want you to set. Like turning off DHCP for instance.
After a few days trying to get ICS to work with this thing, it's going back in the box and going back to Wally World.
This router would probably be ok for it's intended purpose; allowing TCP/IP dummies to share a cable connection. But for those of us who hate "Wizards", and know a little more than the average Joe, this is a frustrating little box.
I bought this product, just the router, in April. It has already stopped working. The inner router is still working. I can still access my printer and other computers, but for some reason the router will not properly connect the the internet. Installation was great, very easy to use and user friendly.
Pros: Good price Cons: Requires firmware update to work properly
This router does not work right out of the box. It will frequently loose its connection and flash or wmv will stop mid stream and not restart. A firmware update will solve the problem and it is easy to do in a web browser (not the included setup wizard).
