Pros: Built-in hygrometer seems accurate, nice size, easy fill Cons: Fan and motor causes a great deal of noise, flimsy and not well-constructed
As I prepare to return this humidifier for a 2nd time, I'd like to share my experience for anyone who is considering purchasing this item.
Overall, it's a fine product in theory but the flimsy plastic of the main container combined with shoddy construction of the fan / fan motor makes it very noisy and unusable.
The first one I bought pretty much from the start had an odd vibrating noise, and within days developed a rattling noise on top of that. The second one was fine for about a week or 2 then apparently the motor bearings wore out and the same noise problem occurred due to the fan vibrating and causing the whole unit to shake and rattle. I'd hoped the first one was a fluke, but obviously there is just no quality in the manufacturing of this thing. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
