Pros: mini lcd display, lots of steam, heats up fast Cons: I don't like the cord, only 1 yr warranty
I've always hated ironing because I've always hated my irons. I've always bought the cheapest models because I never really used them much, not unless I was heading to town and wanted my clothes free of wrinkles. They would tear up eventually and if I ...
Pros: Heats Fast, slides smoothly, precise temp control, creases with own weight. Cons: a tad costly, but worth it.
I had very specific needs when it came time to find an iron to replace the useless lightweight model that mercifully died. I sew and quilt, and needed an iron for pressing seams open, as well as general ironing. Teflon coated irons ...
Pros: Steam is great and ironing time is short. Iron glides on fabric. Cons: Poor location of steam dial. It's easy to lower unintentionally.
I have had the pleasure of being the proud owner of the B&D D2030 iron for a few months now and I cannot be more pleased with its performance. My former iron, also a Black and Decker, was failing after 12 years of hard work. It was time ...
Pros: Long cord, steam and more steam and most of all no guessing on temperature! Cons: Heavy when tank is full of water.
Okay, let's face it, ironing is not a fun chore by any stretch of our imagination, but when you throw in a little technology and a great tool; well it is not all that bad. The Black and Decker D2030 has added a little F-U-N to this boring and mundane ...
Pros: Heats up fast and it's heavy, so you don't have to press so hard. Cons: Didn't last six months with minimal use and ordinary care.
I'd never had other than a lower-end or base model Proctor Silex or G.E. steam iron--none of which gave any cause for complaint except that some wrinkles took a lot of work to iron out--but one day I just decided to "treat" myself to ...
Pros: Digital settings, burst steam and burst spray at every temp, fast heatup Cons: On the heavy side
I can't believe I waited so long to buy a new iron! I was using a wedding present from 37 years ago and it just didn't seem to get hot enough. After reading the reviews on irons in Consumers Reports, this one was a clear top performer. My ...
I bought this iron after my top of the line Rowenta iron kept leaking and spitting on my ironing. After having enough of that I purchased my Black and Decker and could not be more happy with the performance. I have had it over three years now and it ...
Pros: Great steam supply and steam volume control. Excellent ergonomic plastic fill vessel. Cons: Three years of light use is totally unacceptable. :-(
This was a great iron while it lasted, three years. Its best features were the excellent steam supply and volume control. They made it easy to iron out wrinkles. Ironing went fast and was less of a burden. Clothes looked better in less time and with less ...
Pros: Great at steaming, heating up, digital is easy to read, perfect. Cons: none
I just bought this iron as my top of the line Rowenta kept spitting all over everything. I love, love, love this Black and Decker, and wish I'd made the switch years ago.
The Black and Decker takes out creases in cotton like nothing I've ever seen or used. I am thrilled. I was surprise how much more time it took to iron with the Rowenta. It seemed like I was done in no time with the Black and Decker. Makes me want to buy a spare just in case something happens to it
Pros: Irons out stubborn wrinkles Cons: A little heavy
I bought my Digital Advantage (D2030) (stainless steel plate) about a year ago and I still love it. It irons out difficult wrinkles very nicely. When I first got it, I found it to be a little heavy, but got used to it quickly, as I found I did not have to work at it as hard. I guess I was used to pressing down on my garments with my previous iron. However, if you are looking for a light weight iron, you probably would not like this one. It does use a lot of water, but steam is what gets wrinkles out, so that is not a complaint.
Pros: Good Steam Cons: Nothing worked properly or for very long
The non-stick surface wore off in the first month and soon started building up black gunk. This gunk would accumulate until one day it would come off on my clothes; forever ruining them. After about two months of use the digital settings started going haywire so that it would constantly jump from one setting to another and it was impossible to keep on a desired setting. Finally after about 8 months the wires started shorting out and the iron doesn't even work any more. We used the iron lightly and gave it adequate care. This has easily been one of the worst purchases we have made in the last few years.
Pros: It worked fine while it worked. Cons: Steam no longer functioning after year and half of light use.
This iron worked fine for the first year or so. The steam dial progressively became harder to maneuver and now has a completely non-functioning steam dial, one and half years after purchase with light use. Of course, since it is past the one year warranty, the company offered me nothing but, "I'm sorry you had trouble with your iron." They do not service these irons--they simply replace them within the warranty period. I will not buy Black & Decker products again!
Great Iron....Hot Steam and power! But....... by staffybull ,Oct 22 '05
Pros: Heats Quickly, Less Starch Needed, Irons clothes quickly without repeating. Cons: Weight, Uses alot of water due to high temperature setting.
I'm very picky on my appliances and followed a Consumers Report on irons and made this decision to purchase this Iron. I bought this Iron in February, 2005 and have loved it's performance but.. it died on me just yesterday December, 2005 and I had to return it and opted for my Rowenta stand-by. The computer chip inside went crazy and made my iron unusable unfort. It worked great until
this happened.
Pros: Easy to use; easy to read digital display; gets the wrinkles out. Cons: None, except for maybe it's a little bit heavy? Not sorry I bought it.
I just received my iron and used it this morning. WOW. Am I impressed! Took the wrinkles out of my cotton chinos like nobody's business. Steams beautifully, easy to read digital display and easy to use. Perfect.
Pros: Quality iron that gets the job done. Cons: Not always the best at getting out tough wrinkles
I have had this iron about a year now and have been pleased with its performance and durability. I don't think it is that great at getting tough wrinkles out though even on high heat and steam settings. I do like the digital aspect of the iron. It works well and the water reservoir is designed well and does not leak. Overall, good iron.
