Pros: mini lcd display, lots of steam, heats up fast Cons: I don't like the cord, only 1 yr warranty
Summary: I've always hated ironing because I've always hated my irons. I've always bought the cheapest models because I never really used them much, not unless I was heading to town and wanted my clothes free of wrinkles. They would tear up eventually and if I ... read more

Pros: OK: it irons stuff nicely. Cons: Auto-shut-off makes it a pain to use.
Summary: The manual says that “When the iron is idle for 10 minutes…..[it] will turn off.” I can tell that there is a motion sensor in the iron that regulates this feature. However, it does not work as advertised. It will often turn off ... read more

Pros: Heated quickly, good weight, nicely balanced, good display, auto-shutoff, swivel cord, easy to fill Cons: Short lifespan seems to be a problem.
Summary: Because I liked the Black & Decker D2030 so well while it worked I would probably recommend it to a friend, but only with the warning that it might not last long. I had used this iron very little when my husband noticed that the power ... read more

Pros: Steam is great and ironing time is short. Iron glides on fabric. Cons: Poor location of steam dial. It's easy to lower unintentionally.
Summary: I have had the pleasure of being the proud owner of the B&D D2030 iron for a few months now and I cannot be more pleased with its performance. My former iron, also a Black and Decker, was failing after 12 years of hard work. It was time ... read more

Pros: Digital settings, burst steam and burst spray at every temp, fast heatup Cons: On the heavy side
Summary: I can't believe I waited so long to buy a new iron! I was using a wedding present from 37 years ago and it just didn't seem to get hot enough. After reading the reviews on irons in Consumers Reports, this one was a clear top performer. My ... read more

Pros: Heats up fast and it's heavy, so you don't have to press so hard. Cons: Didn't last six months with minimal use and ordinary care.
Summary: I'd never had other than a lower-end or base model Proctor Silex or G.E. steam iron--none of which gave any cause for complaint except that some wrinkles took a lot of work to iron out--but one day I just decided to "treat" myself to ... read more

Pros: Heats Fast, slides smoothly, precise temp control, creases with own weight. Cons: a tad costly, but worth it.
Summary: I had very specific needs when it came time to find an iron to replace the useless lightweight model that mercifully died. I sew and quilt, and needed an iron for pressing seams open, as well as general ironing. Teflon coated irons ... read more

Pros: Long cord, steam and more steam and most of all no guessing on temperature! Cons: Heavy when tank is full of water.
Summary: Okay, let's face it, ironing is not a fun chore by any stretch of our imagination, but when you throw in a little technology and a great tool; well it is not all that bad. The Black and Decker D2030 has added a little F-U-N to this boring and mundane ... read more

Pros: Great steam. Cons: non
Summary: I bought this iron after my top of the line Rowenta iron kept leaking and spitting on my ironing. After having enough of that I purchased my Black and Decker and could not be more happy with the performance. I have had it over three years now and it ... read more

Pros: Great steam supply and steam volume control. Excellent ergonomic plastic fill vessel. Cons: Three years of light use is totally unacceptable. :-(
Summary: This was a great iron while it lasted, three years. Its best features were the excellent steam supply and volume control. They made it easy to iron out wrinkles. Ironing went fast and was less of a burden. Clothes looked better in less time and with less ... read more

Pros: Easy to use. Quick warm-up Cons: Having to set the level every time got annoying
Summary: I had this iron for less than a year and used it for a regular amount of ironing. Today I went to use it and it is dead. Looks great on the outside but seriously lacking on the inside. Very

Pros: It came to temperature quickly and was easy to use the first time. Cons: It was worthless after its first use. Read my review for details.
Summary: Although I rarely have use for an iron, I wanted one of good quality that made the chore easier. Because the B & D D2030 was highly rated by Consumer Reports for both performance and value, I purchased one.Unfortunately, Consumer Reports only

Pros: worked well and heats up fast (while it worked) Cons: quit after a little over a year
Summary: After 12 to 18 months of light use the iron emitted a burning insulation smell and quit. Googled "black and decker iron complaints" and found several cases of the iron catching

Pros: Good Steam Cons: Nothing worked properly or for very long
Summary: The non-stick surface wore off in the first month and soon started building up black gunk. This gunk would accumulate until one day it would come off on my clothes; forever ruining them. After about two months of use the digital settings

Pros: performs well while it lasts Cons: who wants a one year iron?
Summary: i bought this iron last year because it was highly recommended for performance, although more than one opinion said that it breaks down in a very short period of time for an iron. indeed, i only got one year of use out of it. i will never buy

Pros: works good for a while Cons: For us, JUNK. AND, poor customer support.
Summary: I bought this Iron based on a review from Consumer Reports. It was a great Iron that we used for less than 2 years (not heavy use either, probably less than average, maybe for an hour or two every few weeks). A few days ago it quit working. First the LED

Pros: It worked fine while it worked. Cons: Steam no longer functioning after year and half of light use.
Summary: This iron worked fine for the first year or so. The steam dial progressively became harder to maneuver and now has a completely non-functioning steam dial, one and half years after purchase with light use. Of course, since it is past the one year

Pros: Excellent steam, light wt, digital read Cons: none
Summary: For several years we used a $100 Rowenta and thought "it's got to be the best because it's a Rowenta." Wrong! The steaming was weak and it leaked resulting in off-white/yellowish stains. My wife is notorious for leaving clothes waded up in the basket

Pros: Great steam. Cons: Turns off too soon.
Summary: I'm a quilter and my irons get a lot of heavy use. This is the best iron I've had yet. In fact I bought a second one because generally as soon as I find a really good product, the manufacturer stops making it. I've had this iron a year and it

Pros: Easy to use; easy to read digital display; gets the wrinkles out. Cons: None, except for maybe it's a little bit heavy? Not sorry I bought it.
Summary: I just received my iron and used it this morning. WOW. Am I impressed! Took the wrinkles out of my cotton chinos like nobody's business. Steams beautifully, easy to read digital display and easy to use. Perfect.
