Bosch SHX33A05 Stainless Steel 24 in. Built-in Dishwasher

Pros: Looks good
Cons: poor service life!!!!

Here the situation. We bought German thinking about getting quality product. Well, the dishwasher detergent dispenser misaligned a couple of times and at the end it broke after 1.5 years of service...We use the Dishwasher every day. We met a technician who said that Bosch got tons of calls for the same problem and guess what?...it was always after warranty period and after about 2 years of service.

Pros: cleans dishes well. Quiet
Cons: STINKS -- I would not recommend Bosch

Brand new dishwasher has revolting odor after sitting a couple of days between washes.
Do a "google" search on bosch smells -- and you'll be amazed at how many people are having the same problem.
And when Bosch technical says they "know nothing about it," is such a blatant lie, I just can't believe it.

Cons: Pungent stink overpowering and makes Bosch a no buy

We recently got this dishwasher and it has a pungent smell inside. It smells like a strong vitamin and the smell permeates anything plastic that we wash. When we open the dishwasher, it is overpowering for us and anyone who has been in the kitchen when we opened it. We called customer service and they simply said they have not heard of this before; did not offer to send someone over to check it out. If you google stinky Bosch you will see others have had this problem. Do not get a Bosch!!!!!

Pros: Quiet, dishes are super clean, easy install
Cons: no indicator while running, so quiet you don't know its on.

the very elegantly styled and easy to install bosch is delightful to operate. the tub is tall and stainless (stainless eliminates odours unlike plastic tubs, the other guy must have smelly water) the bottom is flush with no exposed heating elements to burn tupperware and/or small items. the higher model has a red light dot which shines on the floor when on, i wish this had it because it is so quiet. bosch achieves this by not using a garberator. the exterior styling is equal if not better than the more expensive LG and Jennaire. installation was easy with the connections at the front of the unit behind the kick plate. door is nicely weighted and stops in any position. racks are adjustable and easily customizable. with normal dishes there is alot of room between racks.
overall a good replacement for my frigidaire.

BEWARE!!! Our Bosch dishwasher always smells. It is so bad that we can't even go a day after bleaching and the smell is back. We didn't even have any dishes and it smells. We have tried everything to no avail. We would never buy a Bosch again.

We've had our Bosch dishwasher for 1.5 years now and always wondered what the nasty smell was that came from it a few days after each wash. I thought something died in the unit. So, tonight my wife suggested that I Google "stinky Bosch", only to find out that we're not the only ones. This is unbelievable!! Has anyone found the route cause of this problem? ... or any way to reduce the smell? I'm concerned about long term effects on our health.
