Bosch WFMC 3200 Nexxt Washer Takes Laundry to the Nexxt Level

by Mark_A. Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jan 07 '05
Pros: Excellent performance with on-board heat, high capacity, many extra options
Cons: Price, horizontal control panel, availability
Thinking of trading in your old top-loading washing machine for a new front-loader? Many Americans, around 15 percent of new washing machine buyers, are doing just that. Front-loading washing machines have been popular in Europe, Asia, and at ...

Bosch WFMC3200 makes laundry almost fun

Pros: Quiet! Huge capacity, Efficient
Cons: Cost, no door reversal kit, does not stack
I have owned this machine for 2 1/2 months. (I did not purchase the 8" pedestal or matching dryer.) It replaced my 30-year-old top loader. I do laundry for eight people, and this machine is still fun to use. HERE'S WHAT YOU GET: A 216-lb, ...

by jtrosen , Oct 14 '04
Pros: Saves water, cleans well
Cons: Difficult to repair yourself, expensive
The Bosch Nexxt model washer is an excellent product. It does take some getting used to, and the documentation for the machine is a bit lacking. The washer is extremely efficient, and with the matching dryer, you can wash and dry almost anything in 200 ...

Pros: Solid built, Ease of use, Supperior cleaning, Feature rich.
Cons: A bit awkward to levle.

Pros: According to reports, may be more reliable than other American brand frontload washers. Quiet.
Cons: Expensive, but no more so than other top quality front loaders.
We shopped specifically for a front loading washing machine for greater efficiency and less exercise diving into the top loading tank. My wife is 5 feet 2 inches tall. With her AARP membership, pulling out washed laundry seemed easier with a front ...

Cons: can't think of any!

Pros: Efficient and economical to operate. High spin speed reduces dryer time. Gets stains out.
Cons: User must read manual. Too much detergent causes suds problems. Imbalanced loads impede spin.
Have owned this machine 2.5 years and still love it. It's like a BMW, has to be used correctly. Needs to be well installed, balanced and leveled. When it is, it works great. You might not be able to fill it to top capacity, we've backed off the 18 ...

Pros: The Nexxt laundry machines look nice when new, run quietly, and get clothes very clean.
Cons: Wash cycles take too long, and machines are poorly made. Durability and reliability are concerns.

OK - except for heavy loads
by bendite ,Jan 30 '07
Pros: Doesn't use much water.
Cons: Trouble spinning heavy loads. Low capacity. Noisy during spin cycle.
Have had the Bosch washer for about 1.5 years now with an average of 6 loads/week. In general it is OK. However, has a lot of problems with finishing the spin cycle on heavy loads (ex. jeans/ towels). Also, sounds like a jet taking off when it goes into the spin cycle. Noisier than the top loader ever was. I also end up using the 'quick mix' setting most often because the washing times on other cycles are so long. Wish I could select my own water temperature.

Have to be a knot expert
by gooddesigne ,Feb 09 '08
Pros: Looks nice, energy efficient
Cons: Need the strength of a wrestler to untangle clothes
This is a truly unbearable product. When I do a load with pants and shirts, they are so mind bogglingly knotted together at the finish, that it takes 10 minutes, while crouched uncomfortably on the floor, to untangle the clothing one arm and one leg at a time. After getting the clothes separated, the arms of a long sleeved tee shirt are still twisted to within an inch of their lives. My arms ache after this process and if I have any muscle tone at all in my arms, it's due to this washer. Thank you Bosch. I guess I should thank you for saving me money on a gym membership.

Bosch Nexxt Washer/Dryer
by drkank ,Apr 16 '07
Pros: gentle to clothing, water saver, looks good
Cons: Terrible and frequent service, poor owners manual
Both machines are over 3 years old now. I have experienced most of the problems mentioned previously--E04 error code, mold/sewer smell, gasket not staying in place, clothes that don't spin dry well, and dryer light bulbs that constantly need replaced, and very poor customer service when contacting the company. Bosch did replace my washer during the first year and the E04 problem did not continue with the new model and the spin dry issue improved except on heavy towel/jean loads. I do enjoy the results of the wash load--clean and very little pilling of the items. The dryer dries quickly but the sensor is too sensitive sometimes and I have to run it longer to really get things dry. The product looks sturdy compared to other brands but internal quality does not match the outside. The owners manuals are pretty useless. I doubt these products will last as long as my previous machines.

Horrible Washer!!!!!!!!!
by mlisenby ,Apr 04 '06
Pros: None.
Cons: Bad, Bad Customer Service!!!!!!!
I hate everything about this washing machine! The door and the control panel have cracked twice now in a six month time frame each time needing repair. It has a terrible smell that Bosch customer service and their repair tech says is my problem. That I need to run an empty load with 1 cup of vinegar after each use and to wipe the machine down inside drum and outer rubber seal. WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT? After contacting Bosch they wrote me back stating there was nothing they could do!!!!!!!!! Stay away from this washer. Does not work properly and no customer service.

Great machine, clothes clean
by camargue ,Jan 23 '07
Pros: Efficient, quiet and a big water/fuel saver. I like it!
Cons: None so far, but I update should problems develop.
I have only had the machine a few days. It has made a big difference. I found the users guide a bit difficult to follow, but after taking some time everything is fine. Very important to follow instructions on leveling and then locking the feet in place - otherwise the machine will vibrate badly and become unbalanced again. No problems with others complains of E04 - instructions very clear to use HE soap and less of it. I have found that the most I have needed is about 1/2 a filling cup provided by most soap makers. The time of wash is longer, but you save about 70% water and 67% electricity over the older top load models. However, on the other side drying time is greatly reduced due to the 1000 RPM spin cycle at the end. Sales person told me about the possible mold/smell issue. I took one of my wife's old sneakers to prop the door open - but I kept the lid on my top loader open as well after washes to avoid this problem as well.
Try to find last years model like I did - I purchased the washer for $673!

Bosch 3200 good machines, poor customer service
by mercedes320 ,Sep 10 '05
Pros: Quiet, efficient, nice looking
Cons: Customer Service!! Be cautious when purchasing pedestals as they may cause you much grief.
I purchased the Bosch 3200 washer and dryer after reading the good reviews they received. I have had an entirely different experience with this company. I purchased the optional pedestals for both units and kept having problems with the spin cycle on the washing machine. Off balance most of the time. The Bosch service tech had been out to my house approx. 6 times over a period of 6 mos. trying to correct this problem, including ordering me a brand new machine with always the same problem still existing. Turns out that the technician and myself narrowed it down to the pedestals as being the problem, but in order to have Bosch remove them and for me to get a refund, it has been another long process. I finally got them removed after about 2 mos. of waiting and have currently only received a refund for 1 pedestal and am waiting for the check to be cut for the other one, not sure when this will be. No one from customer service will ever call you back!

After 5 repair visits dryer still does not work
by egan25 ,Mar 01 '05
Pros: Washer very quite -- white goes with everything
Cons: Didn't factor the cost of taking 5 days off work to get dryer serviced
Don't trust Bosch to know their own products! We've had the Nexxt washer and dryer for 2 months now and the dryer has only worked a few times. Bosch has had two different service companies and three 3 servicemen out to look at it and Bosch's tech support keeps recommending adjusting the door switch -- they have the repair history -- they should know this isn't the problem. Apparently if they can't fix it on the next visit Bosch is going to replace it -- something they should have done after visit 3. I can think of no other purchase I regret more than this one -- I should have bought the Duet. Boschs understanding of own product deplorable

Bosch is Awsome!
by cookorma ,Feb 11 '07
Pros: American made! very well constructed nice and sturdy. Efficient, braided hoses, looks great.
Cons: Can't think of any yet but will update if there are any problems.
After going through a horrible experience of purchasing a G.E. front loading washer and taking not 1 but 2 back, we figured to take the Bosch out for a spin. To compare the 2 it is the difference between a Yugo and Buick park avenue. (GE washers/dryers are made is china and very cheaply made.)

The construction and features are what you would expect for a higher priced machine. We had to get another washer and decided for the longterm an efficient one. We also received a $100 rebate for purchasing which makes it that much sweeter!

Laundry Odors
by ka24 ,Apr 10 '05
Pros: Worthless
Cons: Adds enough water to wash one piece of clothing.
I don't work for the company or own stock in it - hint hint. This washer adds so little water that not only does it clean terribly, but items in the same load can pick up the smell of other clothes because there's not enough water to carry the dirt away. The problem is resolved by adding water. I was using unscented detergent - no problem with my old water guzzler.

While the HE detergents clean about the same as adding water, with adequate water levels still in the lead, they contain heavy amounts of industrial solvents.

I found Bosh customer service to be awful.

Beware of High-Efficiency washers. Because they use so little water, they allow manufacturers to use a cheaper motor since the water weight load is so low, while charging more for the great energy-star rating.

Nice washer, but...
by compdoc ,Jul 14 '05
Pros: Uses little water, and runs quietly.
Cons: You should use HEI detergents, and service quality can vary.
After 6 uses, the display on the washer went dead. I called the 1-800 number on the machine, and was given a few local numbers to call for service.

A guy came out, recorded the serial and model numbers, and two weeks later I was contacted that the part was in. However, it was the wrong part. In all, it took a little over a month to get working again...

But I have to say, it has given me no problems since, and I've had the machine a couple of years. It also does a great job of cleaning.

Horrible, can't wait to get rid of it
by justnotes ,Aug 06 '08
Pros: None
Cons: Loads take too long, too many error messages, too many more to list
We were finally able to replace our washer and thought we were getting the best. We've had it for a year and a half, and I thought we could work out and work through the problems. Wrong. The washer is horrible. It's sad that I can't do a load of towels or jeans without getting the error message. If I forget to prop open the door with a towel when I'm done with a load, the smell of the water sitting on the inner rubber is disgusting. The vibration is ridiculous, it sounds like a helicopter going over the house. We will never ever get a Bosch product again, and I can't wait until we can afford to buy a new washer to replace it. The dryer is a pain too, doesn't always dry all the way. Can't stand that when you stop a load it starts all over again. Very frustrating to think you are spending so much to buy the best, and you get something that is so disappointing.

Pros: Clothes are very clean when machine works!
Cons: Poor overall performance
Constantly get E04 error message even though I am using HE detergent. I keep making my loads smaller but the machine still does not spin properly and I have to spin twice. Machine smells moldy. Customer service at Bosch is horrible. My local appliance dealer (where I purchased the machine) has come out twice and told me 1) use HE detergent and 2) The moldy smell is something you have to put up with because of the front load. I had to pay for both visits. The machine looks pretty, but is terrible to use. I regret buying it.

Believe me its not worth it. I want my top loader back!
by miketakeda ,Mar 15 '07
Pros: very quiet operation. Looks cool
Cons: mold forms inside door gasket. Cannot handle large loads. Clogs regularly
Bought both Bosch 3200 and matching Bosch dryer when we remodeled our house in 04. At first we kept getting the too much detergent signal and now put so little detergent in I wonder if we are really cleaning anything. Several months later the machine starting smelling moldy and upon inspection of the rubber gasket, I found it with mold all over it from top to bottom. We called Bosch and they said we were supposed to keep the door open. Where does it say that in the manual! Could not clean off the mold and now mold is forming inside the window of the door! It cannot handle large loads and if it gets plugged, which is regularly, you have to start a whole rinse cycle over again. If you are really considering one of these machines, go look at one at any appliance store, look at the gasket and use some logic. If you need to reverse the door, forget it, you wont find the parts to do it.

Cracks, cracks and moldy smell!
by abapper ,Sep 11 '06
Pros: conserves water, very quiet
Cons: extremely poor build quality, moldy smell
bought this along with its dryer brother (WTMC3300US) on 01/25/2005.

we noticed cracks appearing behind the washer door that run up along the control panel within 6 months. Service plan replaced the plastic without any problems.

We have been experiencing a moldy smell coming from the washer for the past few months. I have to run an empty load with bleach to get rid of it.

Now, only 19 months after initial purchase, more major cracks have appeared on the washer AND dryer.

Although Lowe's extended warranty cust service has been fine, I very much regret this purchase.

My wife's cheapo Sears washer lasted her >8 years and was working fine when we replaced it with this junk. We should have never gotten rid of it.

Awesome washer, great for baby stained clothing
by peaches5317 ,Jul 08 '05
Pros: Easy to use, childproof, and great at stain removal
Cons: I don't have any problems with it.
I love this washer and dryer. It is amazing at getting out the worst baby food and general stains on my childrens clothing, without ruining the clothing. I love that the buttons are on the top of the washer and dryer and not in the front. My children can not turn it on. It also has lock features to keep little hands from starting it. Those who said they don't like that the buttons are on top must not have kids. I have no complaints.

Live in Repairman!
by debtimm ,May 04 '07
Pros: None
Cons: Extreme cycle length, moldy smell, single direction door, etc.
I loved my previous front loading machine. I love my Bosch dishwasher, so I thought I would love this washing machine. I was wrong. It is horrifying to watch each load of any size or type take up to 3 hours to complete. At the 1 - 2 hour mark, right before your eyes, it will reset itself for another 120 minutes. The moldy smell was our fault. According to our repairman, only HE powder detergent may be used, and only 1 - 2 tablespoons period. Funny that I could pack 17 towels into my previous machine and use any detergent I wanted without any difficulty. I really wish that I had just paid for the repair. It was a much better machine.

For the best washer category, the Oscar goes to....
by view2mtn ,Nov 04 '05
Pros: Solid front door, controls are very intuitive, super quiet, doesn't use much water.
Cons: Hard to get leveling right so it doesn't shake during spinning. That's it.
I was very skeptical about buying this machine. I hate when I read reviews that talk about bad repair drama. But the good things I read seemed really good. So I threw caution to the wind and bought the Bosch WFMC 3200 Front Loader. I've never had a front loader before, always a top loader. I've had it about 2 months now and I absolutely love it. The salesman told me he had the washer and matching dryer at home and loved it and had no problems. That sold me (plus all my homework checking out other reviews). I am very pleased so far. The cycle time does take a little longer than my old top loader but the clothes are wrung so dry that drying (I have the matching natural gas dryer) takes much less time, about 15 minutes for an average load, which saves me money in the end. Who can beat that logic?

VERY PLEASED
by khorvatits ,Sep 03 '05
Pros: I like the control panel angled on the top. Unbelievably quiet wash cycle.
Cons: Yes, the spin cycle can cause vibration. What would you expect at 1000 rpm?
Great washer. We bought the Bosch dryer also. Both machines live up to their reputation. We bought both at Lowes. The Lowes salesman knew the product line and answered all questions. We also bought the extended contract for the washing machine which effectively gives us 5 years total warranty. Both machines were delivered the next day. The Bosch dryer has a stainless steel drum like the washing machine. Not all dryers in the same price range offer this. Exhaust porting on the dryer drum is much larger than most dryers, and therefore more efficient. The clothes are nearly dry out of the washing machine due to the high speed spin. Completely satisfied with the purchase and performance.

Good Machine
by ltramont ,Oct 07 '04
Pros: Can put a folding shelf over front loaders.
Cons: A little noisy on spin.
I read a LOT of e-pinions regarding these front-loaders and finally made my choice to go with the 3200. I have had no problem finding proper detergent, or anything else. I'm happy with it, though the high spin does make a bit of noise, which may be due to our floor and not the machine itself. Clothes are clean and not wrinkly (we got the matching dryer). I see what a few people said about the detergent/fabric softener cups being too close together, but I've been pouring things for years so I don't have a problem. Worth the money.

Great washing machine
by acblack4 ,Sep 22 '06
Pros: Cleans well, saves water & detergent.
Cons: Expensive to purchase. Clothes sometimes wind up very tangled together.
I replaced my 22 year old Maytag with the Bosch washer 1 1/2 years ago. I still find it to be a great washer. It cleans the clothes very well and saves water & detergent. The Siemens washer is a clone of the Bosch but at the time I bought mine the hoses were extra with the Siemens and free with the Bosch. I do not have a pedestal but really see no need for one as it is expensive and the drawer underneath doesn't hold much. Most front loaders have a slide out drawer for adding detergent, bleach and softener. The Bosch has a flip open door on top so you do not have to worry about a sliding drawer wearing out in a few years from constant use. I am happy with the washer and would recommend people in the market for a washer take a look at this model.

Machine breaks easily, Service is difficult to call
by skyisthelimit ,Dec 11 '05
Pros: Cleans well when working.
Cons: Loud and breaks. Difficult to get technician out to fix machine.
My Nexxt Washing Machine broke a little over one year. It took a number of weeks to convince the service technician to come out and fix the machine. They tried to convince us that we used too much detergent. When they finally came out three weeks later, they cleaned out the drainage pump and claimed it was fixed. This cost me $160 to vacuum out the drainage pump. Two wash loads later, the washing machine has the same problem. The service department took another week to come out. We have been without a washing machine for 5 weeks. The technician states that these machines have very sensitive drainage pumps and they are so busy fixing machines. Not a good sign. He charged us for a second visit and replaced the drainage pump. Warranty doesn't cover for service visits after one year. Each visit will cost you money. At least one to diagnose and another to fix the problem.

P.S. Do not purchase the pedestal drawer for these machines. It makes a quiet machine very noisy.

Don't buy it!
by robertbark ,Apr 25 '08
Pros: Sorry, don't have any. I am not recommending this product in any way.
Cons: The only green aspect of this washer is the green you'll be paying.
We have a Bosch washer and dryer pair. The dryer malfunctioned during the warranty period and was replaced after three attempts to repair it and countless battles with the company. The washer also sucks. The screws at the top were over torqued by the company and now the plastic is cracked. Of course I didn't notice this until the front gasket failed. The washer is 2 years old, so if you don't mind paying around $500 per year on washers, this might be the product for you. The front gasket is also damaged on the washer, so that water pours out on the floor. I have not yet received an estimate on repair of this part, but Bosch will not even sell me the part. I am sure we are looking several hundred dollars. Meanwhile, that doesn’t even address the cracked part, which will undoubtedly fall apart soon.

Washer broke when less than a month old, long repair time
by pattiri ,Jul 29 '05
Pros: Very quiet, energy efficient and cleans cloithes good.
Cons: It broke when a month old and we don't know when it will be fixed.
We have a new Bosch washer. It ran great for less than a month.
Serviceman came Tues. and didn't have part. Came back Fri. Part didn't fix it and right part ( motor board) is not available. They are looking for this part. It is very discouraging to have such major repairs on such a new expensive washer. Repairman was nice. Customer service person is nice but said repairs take 2 to 3 weeks. Had we known this when we bought it we would have bought a Whirlpool because parts are readily available and anyone can fix it. Cost is about the same.
When it works it's quiet and clothes come out clean but cycles take a long time. It is energy efficient. We bought a Bosch because we thought it would be dependable. It replaced a 6 yr old Maytag Neptune that had mildew and board problems. We obviously have bad washing machine karma.

DO NOT BUY WASHER
by russelltopload ,May 22 '08
Pros: its not in my house anymore
Cons: taking up valuable space in a land fill
Smells like mold because water gets trapped in the rubber gasket and there is standing water left in the bottom of the washer barrel. If you leave cloths in there more than 10 seconds they smell like mold. The washer will make your whole laundry room stink.

BOSCH WFMC3200 WASHER....PROBLEMS
by p180pilot ,Jun 05 '06
Pros: uses less water than old style top loader machines and spins clothes dryer..
Cons: vibration....plastic cracking, loud squeaking in spin mode..numerous service calls...
Bosch WFMC3200 Washer...shake rattle and cracks...
I purchased this washer in March 2006. The machine is noisy, vibrates a lot, and the plastic console (top piece with all the settings etc. at the front top of machine)has cracked and has been replaced by Bosch on two occasions.
Bosch has tried to point the finger at my laundry room floor as the cause of their problem. To rule this out, I have reinforced my floor with both planks and a vertical steel post anchored to the concrete basement floor. The machine still vibrates and the plastic console still cracked. The machine is still making a terrible squeaking sound when in the spin mode. Bosch is trying to find a fix for this......All I can say is.......please shop very carefully when choosing your new "high tech" washing machine.........

Inferior Parts Used on Bosch
by nard33 ,May 04 '07
Pros: Clean clothes well and run quiet during wash cycle. Repairs machine with no hassle.
Cons: Noisy during spin cycle. Inferior plastic parts on door and machine keeps odor.
Machine runs quiet during wash cycle. Rattles and very noisy during spin cycle. Parts break often around the door. Does not handle heavy loads well. Machine keeps an odor. Often have to run empty machine with bleach to eliminate odor. Power wash and temp boost cycle are too long. I purchased the machine in 2005 and I have had several service calls for repairs. Repairman often blame us for parts breaking on the machine. I would not buy this machine again. It is not worth the money.

by burton823 ,Dec 04 '05
Pros: Excellent functionality, cleans excellent!
Cons: Vibrates like crazy at max spin!
Overall impression is very good! Was considering Whirlpool at first but ended up with Bosch. The quality is unmatched. Plenty of functions and cleans very good and smells fresh.
The only dislike is when it is set at max spin it shakes like crazy and I am afraid my house will fall apart. It is very powerful! Therefore I will only put it at gentle spin so I am really not getting my money's worth. But still overall experience is very good.

Customer Service from Medieval Times
by tgrim ,Apr 14 '06
Pros: When it ran, clothes became clean
Cons: Customer service an oxymoron; reliability a foreign concept
Seems like a nice washer, but the motor should not fail after only about a year. If it does (and the more I read about these washers, the more I see it being reported), they should be able to replace it in a reasonable amount of time. Our washer has been out of commission for nearly 5 weeks after diagnosis, with no indication that it will ever be repaired. Customer service is not helpful, probably because parts appear to be just plain unavailable. I could understand if this were a distributor, but it is the manufacturer!!! On the last futile attempt to fix it, the poor serviceman traveled over 100 miles round trip, only to find the replacement part was not waiting for him, and no one from customer service had contacted him. CS also refuses to connect customers with supervisors, so the web sites like this are the only way to express frustration.

Bosch 3200 Front loading Washer
by mustangmo ,Aug 19 '09
Pros: There are none.
Cons: Everything
This is by far the worst washing machine I have ever owned hands down! I bought an extended warranty. Thank God! I would rather waste water than have this machine. It has cost so much to operate its ridiculous. Everything except the drum has been replaced a couple of times. It's expensive to repair. The first year the motor went out. The circuit board for the controls has been replaced twice. On spin it sounds like a jet engine is coming in for a landing. It sounded like that from day one. Then getting a repairman to come and fix it takes forever. Waiting on parts etc is tediously long. Good luck finding anyone that has a clue on how to fix it.I'll never buy anything from Bosch again.I went to an auction and bought an old Maytag top loader. It actually works and I can easily fix it if it breaks.I wish I could ship this piece of Bosch poop back to where it came from.

by patrice4298 ,Jul 08 '06
Pros: Water bill went down with purchase of machine.
Cons: called customer service 15 times, long wait on phone, unfriendly people
In the past year and a half my Bosch Nexxt wash machine has had to be repaired EIGHT times. the drain pump went out TWICE and it took forever to get Bosch to get a service person out there cause Error 04 came up and they said I was using too much soap. Even argued with me the second time when I knew the drain pump had gone out again. The wash machine has been down a total of five weeks while parts were ordered or they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Had the rubber seal replaced twice, the door replaced. the front panel cracked and had to be replaced, the front spring came out four times and on and on. Bosch kept saying they'd replace the machine if one more thing went out on it, never held up to their promise. Had to take off work each time a repairman came out. will never get another Bosch!

Great machines, quiet efficient and good looking. Excellent cleaning ability
by cyclebob ,Jun 09 '06
Pros: Build quality, quietness, cleaning ability
Cons: small amount of water left in the gasket, a minor point.
I bought this machine by recommendation and review. They look great as well. These replace Maytag front loaders that where a complete disappointment and broke down often. I have had the washer and dryer for 3 months and love them both. Regular cycles take about and hour for both washer and dryer. They are quiet and the first time I used them I did not think there was enough water to do the job. Clothes are clean and are handled in a gentle manner. I find the fit and finish of these units to be very good and have had none of the problems the the other customers encountered. It is very important to us HE detergent and us the correct amount. If you use too much the cycle will be extended. Drying is great as well. I have noticed on several occasions that the dry time is reduced automatically if the clothes don't need the full time.

Cons: doesn't work well, unreliable, costly, clothes reek of mildew
Third service done in 16 months of ownership. This time I had to eat the labor cost to the tune of ~$200. The machine was intermittently stopping in the middle of a wash cycle. It's working now, but everything washed in it smells of mold. Yes, we run bleach through it weekly and leave the door prop'd open...
I don't usually give up on consumer products, but I may cut my losses on this and buy a new Whirlpool top loader.
Bosch when contacted offered no assistance.

Great until we needed service
by cally5 ,Feb 20 '06
Pros: NONE
Cons: Terrible customer service.
We bought this machine because of the name, I thought it would be a great purchase. We were in need of a new washing machine and thought that going to a front loader would be the best.
The machine worked great for 2 or 3 months, we noticed that there was a tear on the boot so we called for service.
The service tech that came to the house had said that he had never changed out a boot before, but he was doing one later in the week. The boot was replaced and the machine never worked right from then on, it would walk all over the place and the noise was really really loud, it never did it before the boot was replaced. They came back out to look at it 3 or 4 times and could never fix it , they said that we were using too much soap, overloading the machine with clothes.
After 3 or 4 months we were able to get or money back from Lowe's, we went else where to buy a whirlpool 9400, so far so good.

Cruddiest Washer in the Whole of Creation
by m0r0gu3 ,Dec 09 '09
Pros: Not a single pro.
Cons: Crap.
Double crap.
Double triple crap on toast.
Nothing but trouble:
Uses way to little water to wash and rinse. You will need to wash twice with moderate soil.
Temperatures don't really work; it's cold or rediculously hot. Doesn't get whites white.
Aweful, cheap plastic trim that cracks if you look at it too long.
It always thinks it's off balance; it can't spin a couple of small bath towels and a sheet.
Obtuse user interface. Typical German under-baked click, click click around in circles with nearly no feedback.
World's lamest manual.
I was fooled by the Bosch/Siemens name. Should have known it was crap when I found it in "Best Buy."
Run screaming from this steaming pile of monkey taints.

Cons: Wash time as long as 3 hours. Big size. Minimal capacity.
Skip this over priced machine.  Although it uses less water you will be doing twice the number of loads: 4 bath towels at a time, 4 pairs of adult jeans, max!  Cycle time can be as long as 3 hours.  I now set a timer for 1 hour - if the load is not done, I drain and spin then run it again on quick cycle with no soap. (Yes I use HE soap).  It is loud.

Expensive, nasty, noisy, vibrating, poorly designed washing machine. Can ONLY be placed on concrete floor (most sales people do not tell you this). Spent $$$$ moving it from an upper floor laundry room to basement.  Bosch Customer Service - non-existant.  No one will stand behind this machine.  Extended warranty was useless - Service man stated that that is the way they function!

Good Washer/Hard to get serviced
by lmpeveler ,Dec 20 '05
Pros: Energy/water efficient, cleans really well
Cons: Breaks down - be ready to go to great lengths for repairs and quality service.
This is a great washer - until it breaks. I had mine for 7 months when the motor blew. I called the "authorized" service center immediately. Once they came out, they didn't know anything about Bosch and had to call Bosch directly for assistance. They determined the motor went bad. Well, it's been over a month since they came out and their still waiting for all the parts to come in. They stated it could take another 3 weeks. During this process I was communicating with Bosch and the retailer I bought it from. Bosch said this was normal procedure. The retailer stepped up and delivered a new machine to me - they felt it was taking too long. This machine is very efficient and cleans extremely well. Bosch just does not have a handle on service yet and it's nerve racking on the consumer. You shouldn't have to spend your time and money at the laundry mat when you purchase a $1,000.00 washer.

Worst Washer in the WORLD
by theloneraider ,Dec 06 '08
Pros: The Cons make the Pros irrevelant.
Cons: Builds up MOLD that ruins your clothes.  Dead rat smell and stains.  Health hazard.
This washer and ALL front load washers are not worth a penny and I would not even take one if I was being paid to take it.  Due to poor engineering the rubber molding for the door builds up MOLD between it and the machine and that MOLD ends up making your clothes smelling worst than prior to washing it.  The clothes smell like my old football uniform after I had used it and left it in my gym bag for a week before washing it.  We have had to throw away clothes and towels as a result of this MOLD and if you are unfortunate to get the MOLD directly onto the laundry, it stains and does not come out.  On top of all that, the MOLD is a health hazard that can put you and your family in the hospital.  Then to make the situation worst, the company will not do anything and for that reason I say do not purchase ANYTHING from Bosch.
