What a workhorse!
by daveg1k ,Dec 01 '03
Pros: Simple, reliable, good quality workhorse. Cons: Auto tracking not 100%, slow erasing and finalising.
This little gem has been connected to the stereo for years now. It gets used to transcribe everything to CD, well actually CDRW. I've converted most of my vinyl LPs to CD and I'm now working on old cassettes.
Using TDK's CD-RW XG for Audio disks, I copy the LP/tape to the CD then into the computer to rip, edit and also convert to MP3s.
It does everything that is needed of it. Quality of the audio seems great, with the exception of the very last few minutes on the CD-RW where there is some crackle - could be the disks though. The auto tracking which changes the tracks when recording be detecting silence is pretty good for most albums though not 100% reliable. Finalising the disks seems to take a while as does erasing them.
Playback is as good as the 'normal' player in the system.
Easy to use, seems quite intuitive.
A great, no-frills CD recorder
