Pros: Does satisfy the instant gratification of having printed glossy photos. Cons: Inconsistent results; prints not always the way it appears on the screen.
I got this unit as a Christmas present from my girlfriend as I never would have purchased one for myself. I've used cheap internet digital photo services (Ofoto, PhotoAccess, Walmart, etc) for the rare occasions when I actually wanted a hardcopy photo ...
Pros: Compactness and portability, ease of use, dye sub technology, cassette and paper packaging Cons: Canon proprietary paper, limited paper formats
Christmas 2003 was definitely memorable ! I always joked around with the wife and kids that I was tired of getting the traditional " Dad " type of gifts such as socks, bad ties, cologne, slippers, etc.. I let the family know, jokingly, that I wanted ...
Pros: True photo images an inkjet cant come close to. Cons: No power button.
After seeing the multitude of inkjet photo printers boasting exaggerated dpi resolutions yielding sub standard results, I went on the search for a true photo printer. I use a dye sublimation printer at my job to print out digital images. I remember seei ...
Pros: Ease of use, Price, Photo Quality, Portability Cons: Maximum print size 4x6
I just got this printer for my wife. I am very happy with the quality of the prints and the ease of use. I have been taking digital photos for about 3 years now, but rarely print any due to the hassle and cost of photo quality inkjet printing. Until a ...
Pros: Fun! Easy to use, good quality prints. Cons: No USB cables, can be difficult to find paper and ink.
I received a CP-200 for a recent birthday, and so far I am completely loving this compact, easy-to-use photo printer. It comes packaged with enough ink and paper to create 5 postcard sized prints. The ink cartridge is really more of a sheet, and is th ...
Great printer but pricey accessories by mgwiredog ,Jan 12 '04
Pros: Everything one could ask for in a portable, high quality photo printer. Cons: Accessories are pricey but still a pleasure to use.
Great little printer. The best quality I've seen in a photo printer with true portability. The ink/paper kit make using it a breeze. Easy to use and great pictures with my wife's s400.
Thought I'd save $100.00 and opt for the CP-200 (with additional purchase of car adapter) instead of the CP-300 with rechargeable battery. Only to find out the car adapter goes for $110.00! What is that all about? I realize I'm paying a little more for portability and convenience but that's ridiculous. Come on Canon give the little guy a break. Future purchasers should opt for the CP-300 for true portability.
Canon CP 200 Photo Printer by franciec ,Feb 06 '04
Pros: Photo quality, dye sub technology, ease of use, portability Cons: Lack of availability of all photo paper sizes
I received the Canon CP-200 printer as a gift after purchasing a new digital camera last year and spending TONS of money on photo processing. I was amazed at the photo quality. It's incredible! It uses dye sub technology so the images are sharp & the colors are true & vibrant.
I love the portability and ease of use. I could have traded it in for the CP-300 with battery pack but can't see when I would be somewhere wanting to print a photo without having a socket nearby.
Con: There are 3 sizes of paper available: 4x6, credit card & wallet. I can easily find the 4x6 photo paper and ink packs at my local Best Buy ($19.99/36 sheets + ink), but I can't find any of the other paper sizes. I spent time searching the internet as well and the only place I've found the other sizes was on the Canon website. I have no problem with this as the prices are reasonable, but it would be nice to have the option to run out and grab a pack of whatever size I want without having to wait for it to be shipped to me.
Pros: Small size

Image quality Cons: No USB cable supplied
Purchased this little gem after comparing the outputs of some of the "photo-quality" inkjet printers and this Canon. There was no comparison, the photo realistic output of the Canon blew the others away! I can print directly from my digital camera (Canon G3), but I wish Canon had included the USB cable to connect the printer to a computer.
Pros: Easy to use, light weight, compact, and beautiful picture quality Cons: Ink & paper a little costly ($24 for 36 pictures)
LOVE IT!!! It is light weight, easy to use, and the picture quality is great! The printed photo looks as good as a picture from the photo lab. I was very pleased with the results. Be sure to purchase extra paper & ink when you purchase the printer. The printer only comes with ink and paper to print 5 photos. A gadget lover's dream!
Great printer if only it would print by disappointed74 ,May 16 '04
Pros: Great Quality Photo Prints. Cons: Constant Paper Jams. Wasted paper and ink. Costly.
Constantly jams and cannot recover. Wastes the paper and the ink. I have been able to get only 2 photos to print without error and they of excellent quality. Unfortunately, the other 20 did not print. Very frustrating printer.
Great prints when it works and Canon won't replace or repair under warranty by victimized-1 ,Dec 11 '04
Pros: Excellent prints and only takes 85 seconds each. Cons: Won't print and Canon won't replace or repair in a timely manner?
Printer is about 3 months old. I printed about 20 prints and they were excellent. Printer wouldn't take paper in. Called Tech Support and went through many checks & procedures but to no avail. At Tech supports request, packaged printer and Fed Ex'ed it to Repair Center. They printed two photos and sent it back without repairing.
Tried to print again and still wouldn't print. Called Tech Support again and again checked everything. They suggested I call Repair Center direct. Repair Center said send it in again. Explained I was in a rush for X-mas photos and they said they would Fed Ex a shipping label and I could give it to the Fed Ex delivery person and not have to drive 50 miles to mail. Label came and Fed Ex wouldn't take package since it was a ground label and no rush.
Called Customer Support this time and they said they would Fed Ex an overnight label but would not replace printer. Fed Ex never came.
