Pros: It's basically a point and shoot Digital. Cons: Freeze using flash indoors. Can't set which of 7 focus spots you want in Auto.
I bought a Digital Rebel and if you are a amateur it works fine. Now for when it doesn't. Indoors with a external flash. There have been numerous times when I'm shooting a model and after a shoot or two with my Canon 420EX flash it will just stop working ...

Pros: Easy to use; great quality shots; expandable with other lenses Cons: None at all for me.
I'm not good enough at photography to be a snob, but nevertheless, for the first many years of digital photography, I stuck snobbishly by my 35mm camera, even using only low-speed slide film. My friends around me thought I was nuts as they took zillions ...

Pros: Price,Price,Price,PRICE,spects.,lens kit, learning potential, size Cons: no manual Metering only partial, no LCD guard for LCD, no serious professional spects.
I have owned the Canon 300D for about four months now. I am a mediocre photographer at my university and I take pictures for just about everything (action, portraits, plays, you name it). After shooting with all of these camera's I was going to ...

Pros: Easy to use after reading the manual. Cons: Flash recharge is slow - Pics are lacking in sharpness sometimes.
I have owned my Canon Digital Rebel 300 D camera for over two years and while I am happy with the results, I must offer a tip to anyone seriously looking to enter the SLR Digital market. Look around! I have three digital SLR's at this point, with my ...

Pros: Ease of use
Extensive settings Cons: Settings take some time to master
I bought this camera 4 months ago for the holidays and regret not doing so earlier. This camera takes outstanding photos. I have used it to take numerous sport stop-action photos and even to take stunning photos of landscapes and some outstanding photos ...

Pros: Price, exceptional image quality, offers full manual setting. Cons: None yet... the included lens feels cheaply made.
I recently upgraded from a Canon A70 to the Digital Rebel and what a wonderful SLR. It looks and feels remarkably similar to my Rebel GII and works great with my Quantaray EF lenses, 28-80mm and 90-300mm. The D-Rebels' 1.6 sensor magnification actually ...

Pros: battery lasts extremely long time, pics are sharp crisp bright, simple to operate Cons: no compact flash comes with it, I would have liked a bigger screen
This is a really slick little SLR type camera. I read the manual and started to take pictures. We have taken more than a thousand pics with the camera and one of the most amazing things is how well it performs in all light settings. It functions just ...

Pros: All numbered above. Cons: No major problems, nothing you can't work around.
The only reason you would choose a Prosumer camera like a Pro 1 or a coolpix 8800 over this is size. When it comes to features and performance it's not even close, the Rebel wins hands down. The only reason you might buy a more expensive SLR (outside ...

Pros: I wouldn't know I only had the camera half a day before it failed. Cons: Do a search on dpreview.com or google for "error 99" or "err 99"
I purchased this camera a few days ago with the EF-S kit lens. I wish I had read a review like the one I'm posting now before I made the purchase. I took about 30 shots and then received an err 99 message on the LCD. The error 99 message locked the cam ...

Pros: Awesome picture quality, incredible electronics, great battery power, Canon durability, unbeatable Cons: none
If you like a camera that FEELS like a camera, a camera that LOOKS like a camera and a camera thats ACTS like a camera - the DIGITAL REBEL is EXACTLY what you need. I love the fact that different lenses can be added to the collection over time to really g ...

Pros: Image quality; battery life; autofocus; quick shutter; automatic "depth-of-field" setting Cons: small buffer; image quality (needs 25MP), viewfinder too small/dark; no spotmeter; no flash comp
For a large format landscape photographer, this thing is pretty amazing. It will give excellent quality prints up to about 6"x9" more easily than I can get from 35mm with drum scan. My previous "toy" camera that had to pay its way was a 35mm all manual ...

Pros: great image quality, excellent design, affordable Cons: none that I can think of
I was an early adopter to digital photography, when I got an Apple QuickTake 100 for my 11th birthday. Sure, the images were lousy, and I didn't use it much, but it was so cool for its time. I didn't return to digital photography until 2002 when my ...

Pros: A really outstanding, easy-to-use camera with many advanced functions easily accessible - when it works. Cons: Forget about SERVICE if repair needed. Replacement if no timely repair? - forgetaboutit!
A really great camera, BUT LOOK OUT. Apparently some problems with quality control and definite problems with customer support/service. I had my unit for about two weeks, then tried to put on a Canon EF lens to supplement the kit lens. DISASTER ...

Pros: Well-built, great feel, reasonable price. Cons: The potential limitations of a true 35mm lens.
As a new father of twin girls, I felt it was time to upgrade from my Digital Elph 230 (a great camera, by the way) and get something a bit more professional. After reading all the amazing reviews about the digital Rebel, it seemed like the perfect ...

Not perfect for such a hype.
by consumeristo ,Feb 24 '05
Pros: Great quality, comes with a good lens, you can keep shooting, battery lasts! Cons: Poor pictures indoors (with flash) are a real nuissance.
Great camera -under the right light. Photos are good and the color range is really excellent for such a cheap camera.
It is true that the camera flash stinks. It is hard to get a decent photo indoors. So if you plan to use it for parties, family dinners, wedding or other indoor activities, stick with a cheaper budget camera, this one aint for that.
But if you want to shoot your artwork this camera will give you a pretty decent quality figuring you set up proper lighting.
I can say more but this is enough.
