The Canon EOS 3000 for Dummies

by twenty3skidoo , Aug 24 '04
Pros: Great pictures, user-friendly, lots of features, looks fancy, did I mention the GREAT PICTURES?
Cons: Weird (expensive) batteries, some parts may break and are difficult to find replacements for
Let me warn you that what I know about photography could fit in the tiny zippered side pouch of my camera bag. With room for a couple of rolls of film! So as I write this review, while I will include any technical stuff I can find, I may not know ...

Great value auto/manual SLR
by sika ,Nov 19 '04
Pros: High standard lens quality. Great price. Quick to learn to use all features.
Cons: Worryingly thin plastic body. Slight movement between the parts of the lens body. Expensive batteries.
The other reviews here covered much of wanted I want to say.

It's a cheap, fully featured SLR that turns out excellent pictures and is easy to use.

I used a fully manual Pentax for the last 20 years and didn't want to be lose the flexibility of manual photography. However for most of my pics the auto options are quite satisfactory.
