Pros: Low inital cost, low ink cost, but high quality print. Cons: A little slow and a little loud when loading paper.
This is a recent addition to my home office that I picked up as an insurance replacement for an old Canon BJC-4000 that was damaged in our basement flood. I had intended to use it for greetings cards and light color print tasks but after printing a full ...
Pros: Fast print speed, easy to use, cheap ink Cons: Not impressed with print quality, noisy, questionable construction quality, annoying feed
When I bought my T3882 at Office Depot, it came with a bundled Canon IP1500. At the time, I still had and still have a working HP PSC1315 all-in-one. It's a decent printer but I thought that it did the weirdest stuff like not cancelling print jobs and ...
Pros: Low-cost, effective, and the refill ink is cheap. Printing quality is pretty "nice". 18ppm mono. Cons: Paperfeed malfunctions, the thing *abhors* thick paper

Pros: Ink cheap to buy and printing quality great. Cons: small ink cartridges and prone to smudging when printing
I purchased the Canon Pixma ip1500 a little over a year ago. I loved it and found it made beautiful prints. Then, a few months later, the printing seemed faded in places and I contacted Canon. As it was still under warranty, they decided the problem was ...
Pros: Cheap to purchase, cheap to operate, good results Cons: Slow
This printer was purchased for use by my 5 year old daughter who loves to print. In searching for a printer, I looked for one that was cheap to purchase, cheap to operate, and generated reasonable printing results. At the present time, these printers ...
Pros: small, easy to install, many different settings to choose from, inexpensive ink Cons: only fair quality photos, uses ink very quickly
I needed a small, inexpensive yet good quality printer for photos that I use as reference for my oil painting projects. I also wanted one that I could use to print out some decent photos for my family album, and preferably one whose ink doesn't cost an ...
My printer had just given up on me and I had to get a new one. After going to a few stores and checking out their selection, I decided on this model, and Im glad I did. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this printer. I printed some 4X6 ...
I picked up this printer at a local computer store for AUD$125, (although I'm sure it's much cheaper in the States) which is a pretty good price for a budget printer in Australia, sort of a strata above the very budget inkjets. Being a student, I used ...
Pros: Cost of printer. Photo quality pictures that it prints. Cons: Having to buy a USB cord. No paper tray! What's up with that Canon?
This printer is THE best printer that I have ever owned. It prints really really good photo quality pictures without borders especially for the cheap price of $50 that I paid for it. It was simple to hook up and prints excellent pictures with really vivid colors. So far, the print cartridges have not dried out like on my lexmark printer that I still have(stay away from lexmark printers). One thing, there seems to be holes for a paper tray but no paper tray came with it. What's up with that? I guess, you have to wait on the document to print out and catch it before it hits the floor. LOL Anyhow, this is a great printer. Go and get one before they are all gone.
Pros: Fast, good quality prints, and cheap to operate. Cons: No paper tray and noisy, but you can get around both ok
I got my printer for free as a package deal from Frys some months ago. I sell on EBAY and do a lot of printing and have used this baby alot! I have been very pleased. Ink costs are much lower than other brands I have used, print quality is super, and spits out copies very fast! Several reviewers have complained about the noise, but one also noted that under printer properties there is a noise reduction selection. Duh... who wouldn't want quieter? It did help.
Best Budget Printer I've Owned by doppelgeist ,Jan 16 '05
Pros: Great SPEED, great COST, cheap INK, sharp OUTPUT! Cons: No output tray, very noisy.
I picked this printer up very cheaply at a local consumer electronics store. As a college student in language and literature, I needed something that would be user-friendly and churn out lots of print documents.
I have been very pleasantly surprised at the blindingly fast print speed (at least compared to the Lexmark and HP printers I have owned in the past) and very nice quality, even on draft settings.
In fact, I only have two reservations: the lack of an output tray and the rather noisy operation. The thing really does make quite a racket. If I have to print late at night, I'm going to owe my roommates an apology in the morning. The output tray thing is rather more serious, as the falling pages tend to smudge if I don't catch them as they're ejected.
Those two minor inconveniences aside, I highly recommend this printer.
Purchase extended coverage! by juliep15 ,Aug 08 '05
Pros: Cheap ink, Good quality prints, Price Cons: Broke quickly
We got this printer for a very economical price, and it worked great. After about 4 months, the wheel that feeds the paper broke, and there was nothing we could do. If you purchase the replacement coverage at your store, it would definitely be worth it. The other advantage is that the cartridges are very cheap, and even if you go through a lot of ink, they are about a third of the price of an HP cartridge.
Good printer for a low price by newlyweds1004 ,Sep 16 '06
Pros: Prints clear pictures from digital camera. Ink lasts longer than most printers, cheap too. Cons: None that I can think of.
After reading the reviews here, I decided to purchase the Canon IP1500 for home use. I mainly needed it to print pictures from my digital camera. I use photo quality paper to print pictures and they come out clear and perfect every time. I also have printed black and white documents on this with no issues whatsoever. I really think this was a great purchase and best of all the ink cartridge is cheap (I paid $7 for black and $14 for color). I bought it for $30 and received a $10 rebate via mail, so for that price I'd definitely recommend it. I've never had a paper jam or any other issues with it so far, very pleased.
In regards to this printers history of giving false paper jam errors, it just began happening to our ip1500 recently as well. We have simply been pressing the reset button until the job prints (usually takes pressing the reset 2-4 times). However, last night my wife (who is NOT a computer person), decided to try pressing the reset button even before the print job started, and lo and behold, the job printed fine without a paper jam error. I have since printed several more multi-page documents without any paper jam errors! I don't know if her actions were just a lucky fluke, but maybe this will help others with this problem.
This printer is HORRIBLE by dajigsamup ,Jul 08 '06
