Pros: 6 color printing, directprint, dual paper paths, duplexer, individual ink tanks, good software Cons: paperfeed sometimes spotty from bottom tray, physically tall and heavy
I purchased this printer to replace my old trusty i850, that was also a canon product--it was quite expensive at the time I purchased it but several years later I'm just plain tired of cleaning problems, quality issues, lack of dual paper trays, no ...
Pros: 6 separate ink tanks; LCD viewer; great print quality; dual paperfeed; EasyPhoto software Cons: Media card reader doesn’t support all digital cameras; black ink tank too small
With my old HP Deskjet 840 past its prime and color printing just not cutting it despite several ink changes and cleaning attempts, I decided a few months ago to get a new printer that I could use with the digital camera I had purchased earlier last ...
Pros: Excellent Photo quality, quiet operation, LCD screen, Memory slots, separate ink tanks, versatile. Cons: A bit bulky, relatively slow on text, only one black ink cartridge.
I have owned mostly HP printers in the past. I've had an HP940C for several years and have had a number of problems with that printer so I decided to give Canon a try. I was trying to decide between the Canon IP4000 and the IP6000D. My first ...
Pros: Excellent Photos, Builtin adaptor, borderless, high res. 6 ink carts. Cons: No Network Printing
The Lowdown I may not be a pro, but I am no novice when it comes to photos. I have had 5 printers, a Epson III, HP Deskjet 675C, a Lexmark Z22, a Textronix Phaser 750N, and finally the PIXMA Ip6000(D). The PIXMA has no real competion other ...

After I got my digital camera last year, I began printing my pictures on my HP OfficeJet 5510xi, but the pictures werent that great and the 5510 required HP 4x6 papers (with the tab on the bottom). I finally decided to spend the money on a new photo ...

Well I've had my PIXMA iP6000D for about a week now, and so far I am very impressed. I've been a dedicated EPSON photo printer guy for many years (my Photo 870 is still going strong) , but I just recently bought my wife a new Canon Camera and with the ...

Best printer we've ever had!!! by thrashingcows ,Jan 19 '07
Pros: Super quality at a good price. Cons: None encountered yet.
Thanks to all the great reviews we decided to purchase this printer. Couldn't be happier with it. Great printing quality and the ink refills are cheap, compared to some. Very user friendly, great options for printing photos. Highly recommended!!!
How can they sell this for such a low price ? by ntk1 ,Jan 16 '05
Pros: Quality, features, quiet, speed Cons: None
Have had this printer for a couple of weeks now, I simply cannot believe the quality of the photo printing. I have tried the 4x6 and full letter size and am blown away by the results, the colors are vivid and the edge blending is completely smooth. When in use the printer is very quiet (I keep having to look up to make sure it is still working). Setting up was easy (took about 20 Minutes from start to finish) and operation with W XP has been flawless. Like I said in the title, how can a machine this good be sold for $150 ?
Pros: Beautiful color. Pictures print really fast. Excellent quality. Cons: printing 8X10 the printer puts black ink lines all over the back of photo
I just bought this printer and when I print the 4X6 its great, however when I print an 8X10 it puts ink lines on the back of the picture. Can someone tell me why it does this. only with the larger pictures. Beautiful color. Pictures print really fast. Excellent quality of photos printing directly off my photo card.
Pros: Easy to work, easy to change ink, good screen. Cons: Manual feed paper is touchy. Ink IS expensive and runs out fast.
When having twin boys, you need a lot of pictures. Taking them is the easy part. Now, printing them is easy too! Much easier than going to the store and waiting 3 days. You can print off pictures before guests leave. Wonderful idea.
Pros: Software setup is simple, photos created are equivalent to any professional development IMHO Cons: Doesn't come with a USB cable - is it really that expensive?
I wanted a dedicated photo printer that would consistently deliver accurate and crisp images on par with what you would receive from Ritz Camera or Longs photo. I am not a professional photographer nor would I be able to identify subtle color deficiencies like saturation or banding unless they were pronounced. That said, I have been extremely pleased with the iP6000D since getting it last month. I have created borderless prints on 8.5x11 glossy (Konica brand) photo paper that rivals what I get from Ritz or Longs. The software installation was a breeze on my W2K box, total setup time was about 20 min. before printing my first picture (and I'm pretty anal about following directions). Single complaint is that it doesn't come with a USB cable. No biggie, just inconvenient.
Awesome printer for the price! by hermi14 ,Nov 28 '06
Pros: Separate photo ink cartridges, ink-low warning Cons: None, really.
My analysis is not as refined as some of the others, but I did a lot of research before purchasing this printer. I wanted something that could print photos but also do regular text printing for personal use. This really fits the bill. I don't print heavily but every few months I do print several hundred pages for nonprofit orgs that I volunteer for and, while it's slower than an office printer, it works fine. I always tweak my digital photos on the computer before printing, so I don't really use the media card reader. I did find that colors on photos are way too saturated unless you use the Canon photo paper (i.e., Epson photo paper doesn't work well in this printer).
Pros: Print quality, LCD screen, separate ink tanks. Cons: Pretty heavy for a printer.
I purchased this printer about 6 months ago. I bought it just for photos. The print quality is top rate on Canon paper. Beware of other photo paper. I tried Fuji Professional, Xerox premium, and Dell photo paper(came as a sample with my computer). The prints are only so-so on these other papers. The 2 photo inks that are in this printer make all the difference in the print quality. I love the fact that it has separate ink tanks so you only have to replace the colors you need. I usually edit my pictures before printing, but I also love the LCD screen. If I want to print pictures for a friend, I don't have to load them on my computer first. All in all, I found this was a great printer for the money. I purchased a Canon A95 at the same time so I got a nice rebate too.
