Pros: Easy to use. Compact. Good photo quality. Cons: Slow shutter speed. Zooms in spurts.
I received this camera as a gift last week, but already played with it a bit. Took some great photos under good lighting, as well as not-such-good lighting and printed them at local Wal-Mart. I made some touch-ups, like adjusting the color and the ...

Pros: Nice camera to have. Cons: 30 seconds of film - regardless of memory size
I got mine from Amazon. I also bought a 1G SanDisk and a rechargeable batteries charger with car kit. Don't know much about photography I just like to be able to take a photo when I see something I want to see again and/or to show to my friends. ...

Pros: Excellent picture quality. The electronics and choice of options are just dazzling! Cons: Cheaply built. The camera is not going to last longer than a few years.
When I bought my my A95, I was dismayed by the cheap and flimsy finish of the camera. Over the years Canon went long way from quality, making now cameras designed to last not much longer than till the warranty expires. The new camera is a far cry from my ...

Pros: 1.8" LCD Flip Out, Scene Shot, Manual Control, Nimh battery, 5 mp Cons: More Noise, purple fringing
This time I give 4 to Canon A95, I was hope this model will be much better upgrade from A80 (I had A80 also). To be honest, I'm little bit unhappy with Canon how they make this model, why? A95 body look cheaper than A80 body that has nice shape and look ...

Gorgeous Pictures Gorgeous Pictures
by outspot ,Apr 10 '05
Pros: Wonderful pictures, cool movie mode Cons: Batteries run out quite fast, no rechargeable batteries supplied with camera
Am using the camera and I find that its everything that I need currently. Not too hard to learn how to use the camera. All the manuals a bit excessive at first better with practice
Found that the camera takes a bit of time to understand all of the features available. Manuel mode available on a medium priced digital camera surprising.
No case supplied with camera, even a less expensive one would be very appreciated.
Heavy and the camera has a defined sense of its self
!

canon powershot A95
by fhraeg ,Jan 18 '07
Pros: simple to use and great pics Cons: flash does not go far and cannot add extra flash. little slow in taking pic.
I love this camera. I cannot reccomend it enough to family and friends. It is lightweight, has just the right amount of features, and takes excellent pics. It is simple to use but yet has advanced features if you really want to play around. I have used the black and white colors and even the sepia for a nice change. I love it. lag time btw hitting button and taking pic

soccerplayer9 All in all ok
by soccerplayer9 ,May 04 '05
Pros: Good battery life, fairly easy to operate Cons: slow shutter speed, some red eye, only 3x zoom
I got this camera for my 18th birthday and I would have to say that it's been great. I'm not a professional photographer so I don't really need to get the most up to date camera on the market, but I also don't need some piece of junk that you can get for almost nothing. This camera has all the features that you could want for the everyday consumer.

Give me a shot
by klx69 ,Feb 13 '08
Pros: Great for all clean Pictures Cons: Need to read all instruction
This camera is great for a starter to use as well as the pictures it produces for a middle of the fielder at, I got much more sharp and clearer pictures then I was thinking I would get.I would recommend it. It has a movie mode it is great. It has a swivel screen is a major plus, it's 1.8". The automatic modes make it easy for anyone to use.
At 200 ISO it will produce excellent exposures out to 13 feet.
You also can cropped to zoom in on some pictures. You do need to read all the manual to get the best out of this camera to tweak it.. Good luck

Fabulous Camera With Tons of Features
by saynotodell ,Oct 20 '05
Pros: Tons of features, great in low-light settings, vivid colors Cons: A little bulky (compared to ultra compact models), the shape of the case is awkward
The nicest thing about this camera is all the different filming options you have. This camera takes great pictures in low-light settings, and equally awesome pictures in daylight.
I took this camera with me to Machu Piccu and was able to capture some truly spectacular images. The greens of the mountains and the bright blue sky were incredibly vivid, and because this camera is 5 mp, I have been able to print crystal clear 8 x 10 that look like they were shot with 35 mm cameras.
The panoramic option on the camera is especially nice for vacations, the only problem is that it's hard to be very accurate when you're holding the camera. The panoramic mode would be best suited for people with tripods.
This camera has come in handy so many different ways throughout my traveling experiences. I've used it to film people dancing in dimly lit clubs, I've used the self-timer to take pictures of me and my friends, I've used the panoramic option for breath-taking panoramic shots of Machu Piccu, and I've used it to film birthdays. It does just about everything! It's a very solid product.

Pros: easy to use and function Cons: haven't found any yet, owned for 4 months
Love this.......this is our first digital camera and did lots of research on this site prior to purchase. I'm so glad that we went with this. I had planned on buying a much more expensive model....I'm so very glad that we didn't. We have everything that we need with this and more. Love it!

Durable
by matteo001 ,Aug 01 '07
Pros: Very durable. Been dropped a lot and it still works. Cons: Eats up batteries like you own stock in the battery company.
A bit bulky. Like the way the screen swivels. Labels on all the buttons are clearly labeled. Bought this camera a few years ago and it was stolen. So, I bought another one. It has gone through a lot. Body is scratched up, battery cover is held together by duct tape, but it still works and kids can use it.

Great Value
by cmcgov ,Sep 02 '05
Pros: picture quality, swivel screen, uses AA batteries Cons: AVF slow in low-light situations, Occasional red-eye.
I think the quality of this camera for the price is excellent. I love, love, love the swivel screen. The camera has all the bells and whistles you could want in a point and shoot camera. I probably won't use half of them. The AVF is a wonderful thing except in low light situations, where it tends to take a long time to focus. A little frustrating when trying to photograph my 2-year old, whom much like other toddlers don't like to stay in one spot waiting for you to take a picture. Outdoors, pictures are brilliant. I haven't had the purple fringing problem, but I sometimes get serious red-eye problems, which is fixable with software. I haven't used this camera for video, I prefer my video camera for that, which las a much larger optical zoom. I would advise buying rechargeable AA batteries, because regular batteries run out too fast.

Using the A95 with underwater housing
by harrisonlucy ,May 03 '05
Pros: The housing works very well with the camera and the software is very useful. Cons: a little heavy, lag time is a little slow but...thats all I can think of!!!
I already had a Canon SLR and decided that I didn't want to risk taking it underwater!! I bought the Canon A95 after extensive research on underwater photography websites, mainly to use underwater and I am VERY impressed with the results. I've already enlarged some to 8x10s and even after zooming in and cropping the original photo the 8x10s come out well.

Don't Risk the Dreaded E18 Error!
by rling ,Dec 04 '07
Pros: None to make it worth risking your money. Cons: Camera may die on you at any moment.
Before purchasing any "A" series Canon Powershot camera, you owe it to yourself to do an Internet search on "Canon E18" so you can go into it with your eyes open. I have owned a Powershot A40 and A75 and BOTH of them failed (the A75 twice within a month) with the fatal E18 problem. I've wasted hundreds of dollars and taken a year off my life in frustration because I believed the reviewers who used these things for a few days nad prounounced them "good" when in fact there are hundreds if not thousands of people like me who got burned by Canon's lousy engineering.

Powershot A95: Great camera = Great pictures!
by bertdasquirt ,Jan 20 '05
Pros: Great quality photos even after enlarging! Cons: Flash can over expose pics at closer range.
The Canon Powershot A95 truly delivers! Very simple to use, yet it produces excellent images. Don't pass this great deal up! You can't beat the price for such a nice piece of equipment.
