Pros: Small, light, hard to take surprisingly bad pictures Cons: Not long battery life. Somewhat less pixels (3.2M)
It is silly to discuss premium picture quality in this point-and-shoot class. The purpose of these small, easy-to-use cameras is user friendly and good picture quality. The 4.0 megapixel SD300 will be released to market at early December but I ...
Pros: Size & Speed Cons: None that I've found so far
After 2 weeks of intense searching I picked up this little honey & I couldn't be happier with it! In my research for a 3 Mega Pixel camera, it came down between the Casio Exilim EX-Z30 & the Canon PowerShot SD200 Digital ELPH. If you look at the specs ...
Pros: Portability; Image Quality; User Friendly; Extensive Photographic Capabilities; Automatic and Manual Settings. Cons: Short battery life; Small Flash Range.

Pros: small size, great image quality Cons: cheap plastic cover on USB port
This is a great little camera. It's about the size of a deck of cards and takes excellent pictures over a wide variety of conditions, including daylight outdoor scenes, indoor flash pictures, night-time scenes, and close-ups of small objects. You can ...
Pros: extremely portable, big screen size, easy to use Cons: Sometimes blurry images due to holding a camera of such a small size

Pros: Tiny. Fast. Big LCD Screen. Awesome Movie Mode. External Battery Charger. Cons: Battery Life. Access to Manual Mode.

Pros: Size, speed, optical zoom, price, quality feel (except for that damn plastic hatch!). Cons: Lots of red-eye because it's so small. Easy to misplace for the same reason.
I've only had this camera for a few days but it appears to be a great little camera. It's an incredibly small camera considering it has a 3x optical zoom and the new processor makes it really fast, whether at startup or between photos. I mean REALLY ...
Pros: About the size of an ordinary business card.
Cons: Fixed focus and zoom (from whatever is selected on the first frame) in movie mode.
I like my camera very much , but I was unsure of it at first. When compared to my Canon S330 - a 2MP camera, the pictures appeared to lack detail-sharpness and have a softness to them. Color was also toned down it was less vivid. After much ...
Pros: Compact size, EXCELLENT price, Durable. Cons: for the price, there are not really many. dark video, red eye

Pros: Size, photo quality, macro mode, night shots, video Cons: Too much red eye, no battery meter
Since this camera has been covered fairly well in the reviews already posted, I will only list the items that have affected me the most in the two years of owning this camera. My photo blog at www.ericsphotoblog.com has a nice collection of photos ...
Pros: Size, photo quality, brand recognition Cons: Like most digital cameras, the lcd screen is very fragile (found out the hard way)
I didn't know a whole lot about cameras when I bought the Canon PowerShot SD200. However, it looked compact, which as a young woman was important to me. It's stylish and slim, but has all the photo qualities of the Canon brand. The best thing I love about this product is the ease of using it, and the ease of plugging it into the computer to access my photos!
Pros: Great price, and size, fits well in purse or small bag. Great screen size too. Cons: The only con would have to be that I wish it had more option buttons.
I got this camera about a year ago. I've taken great pictures with it. It has great resolution, and even though it only has a 3x zoom, you still get great photos out of it.
Pros: Build Quality
Focus assist and focus automation
Size
Looks Great Cons: Non-standard battery - but normal cells wouldn't fit it's tiny body.
After trying out several digital cameras recently - including the terribly disapointing Ricoh R1, I borrowed an IXUS30. Love at first sight changed into a love affair. Now, it's marriage - hopefully for life. The camera just oozes build quality and feels good to hold and use. You realise that the designer meant it to be used. Controls are just where you need them to be. Controls feel right - firm and just the right amount of pressure. But the most important thing is the results - what are the pictures like? Well, the answer is that they are very good indeed. Not perfect - no digital camera no-matter what the price giver real photographic quality and the litttle IXUS isn't going to be as good as a £1000 Canon. But for the price and especially for the size, just brilliant.
Pros: Great service! Cons: Can't think of any cons at all.
We were extremely happy with the camera--so much so that our younger daughter bought one. After three years of very hard use the focus stopped working (the day of my son's wedding, naturally). Later my wife called Canon. They sent a prepaid mailer and said they'd fix the camera free if we had not abused it. Later they confirmed receipt, then notified us that they had shipped it back to us. Meanwhile, I found one on eBay which I got.
What they sent was a refurbished Power Shot SD600, a better camera. Now my wife and I each have one (both compatible with our computers, using the same memory cards.
We are extremely pleased and impressed with Canon! I've been extremely pleased with their copiers, also.
Pros: inexpensive, seems solid, smaller than box of Camels, good pics Cons: some little cons, but not worth mentioning for this size/price camera
I have owned this little camera for a week only, but have to say I am satisfied so far. I paid total of $260 for camera plus 512 MB CD card plus spare battery at Digital Photo Club on-line, which was the best deal for such a kit I found. This Canon takes nice pictures, even in darker places it is possible to take pretty good ones. Perhaps this one is not enough as the only one family camera for some people, but in my case I have another 8 MP bulky camera for taking pictures of the highest quality, so the little one is a good keep-me-in-a-pocket addition.
Pros: Great pictures. Super portable. Decent Movies. Excellent Value. Cons: Battery Life.
This camera is great! Size was my main factor in getting a new camera. It is so small that I can literally take it anywhere. I am actually carrying it around like my cell phone. I find myself taking a lot more pictures and movies of my kids because I do not have to lug around my old giant digital camera or giant camcorder. The pictures are great, especially compared to my 5 yr old digital camera. I am even more impressed with the movie function. The movie quality is as good as my old camcorder, but I do not know how it compares to the newer digital camcorders. I would recommend getting a very large high speed sd card to go along with this, because you will find yourself taking lots of pictures and movies. I purchased the 512mb kingmax card from newegg( only $40).
Great camera, but an LCD problem by kemble2000 ,Jul 31 '05
Pros: Small size, easy to use, great picture and video clips. Cons: LCD's are cracking with alarming frequency
First off, a great camera with excellent picture quality, small size & lightweight, and excellent features. We "upgraded" from an S330 and have been very pleased with the results.
BUT BUT BUT...it may have a design flaw with the LCD, which is cracking (internally) with alarming frequency. Product reviews in www.cnet.com and Amazon are showing more and more problems with the LCD cracking. So far Canon is not recognizing the problem and charging for repair (at almost half the camera's purchase price). Ours cracked within 2 months, however many are experiencing the problem within days or weeks of purchase, all without significant impact or crushing of the camera.
You can buy a protector at 'da Products' to mitigate the problem, but the actual design of the camera (small size with a large LCD) may actually be the culprit.
If you go with this (or other Canon SDX00, which are also having the same problem), be sure to handle with extreme care.
My first digital camera and it is great by fisherfacts ,Mar 01 '05
Pros: easy to use, reliable. Cons: cost of batteries if you don't purchase rechargeable batteries
I purchased the camera for my last holiday because my SLR was too big and heavy. I find the camera is excellent and easy to use. I love the fact that you can view the pictures on television and edit them. We had a picture and movie night after each days outing. I have bought rechargeable batteries and a spare set, so I am never out of battery life. There is nothing I dislike about this camera.
great high quality small digital camera by wizardofli ,Aug 09 '05
Pros: outstanding battery life, made in japan, small in size. Cons: ISO speeds could be faster, manual mode difficult to use.
This is an excellent camera for your money. It's small, light, and can capture short/simple videos. the lens and zoom are adequate enough and you will get fantastic 5x7's!
however, good use and talent are needed. although it's a point and shoot camera, pictures will come out better if you know how to work basic features. This camera should last at least a few years.
I looked at the Sony T1, W1, all the small Nikons, there is no comparison in the quality of the photos. I have owned the Nikon 5700 "Too Bulky". This camera's photos easily compares, may even be better. Where a lot of the other small camera fall short is indoor pics, they all have very weak flashes usually 2m or 6feet range. This camera has a range of 3.5 or 10.5 feet. Infact, I bought the T1 from Ritz Camera I had it one week and took it back because indoor pics were horrible. This is truly the best small camera that I have seen. I hope this helps in your search...
Extremely ultra-compact and FAST camera with multiple settings for either macro or infinity shooting. Color is excellent. This camera is a must for those with pets or kids or who wish to capture objects on the move.
Solidly built with large LCD display. This is much faster than the Sony units and MUCH MUCH MUCH faster than the Nikon units (esp 5400).
