Pros: Small, lightweight, rechargeable battery, 6.5x zoom, 5MP Cons: No viewfinder, field of view is somewhat limited.
I always believed that my ascension to the world of all things digital would never be complete until I owned a digital camera and could shot pictures on the fly. I came close in the later part of 2003, but then a little something called reality in the ...
Pros: small and powerful Cons: none that I have found
Buying a new camera is not easy, there are so many options available. After doing some investigation I purchased the Canon PowerShot SD 20 and purchasing this camera was definitely the right decision. I have to say the first thing that drew me to ...
Pros: Fast, small, and great picture clarity. Cons: No optical zoom and no optical viewfinder.
This is my third Canon digital camera. I previously owned the PowerShot S110 and the PowerShot S200. Although this camera lacks an optical zoom, its size and weight more than make up for the lack of this feature. The camera is small enough to fit ...
Pros: Size, beautiful design, simple to use. Cons: No viewfinder (and a fragile screen), digital zoom damages picture quality.
With the new sd20, Canon have managed to create a design that has a genuine pick-me-up appeal - The sort of charm that's only been achieved by the likes of Apple, Nike and Nokia. It's small - small enough to fit in a cigarette pack and have spare ...
So good, so small and still have video cam feature by igive8opinion ,Feb 15 '05
Pros: small, light, pack with features Cons: no complain here
It is an amazing little camera, it is very small. Just about the size of a cigarette box. Half of the camera is the battery already! I don't know they can make this thing.
Excellent 5MP pixels quality, 3x zoom, good flash, good speed.
My wife loves the video recording capability.
Very very simple to use. Small enough that you do not mind bringing it everywhere.
I think we got it at a very good price by using www.PriceComparison.com to shop for the best deal.
We even found a Dell coupon from CrazyDeals.com which deducted $40 extra from the price. Excellent!!!
Great ultra-compact digital camera! by prubinas ,Jan 12 '05
Pros: ultra-compact size, ease of use, carrying case with belt clip Cons: battery life (adequate, but not great), lack of optical zoom (both trade-offs for size)
I purchased the SD20 as a small replacement for my Canon A40. While I really liked the A40, it was simply too big and heavy to be convenient when size and weight were at a premium. The main thing I like about Canons is the ability to take good quality pictures without being a professional. This camera has different picture settings, including Auto, Manual, Macro, Portrait, Landscape, Night Snapshot, Indoor, and Underwater that all seem to work pretty well. Improvements over my old A40 include better software packaged with the camera, new auto-rotate functionality, and SIZE, SIZE, SIZE. Things I miss about the old camera, but am willing to do without because of the size factor, include battery life (adequate, but not great) and optical zoom (contrary to one of the other reviews, the SD20 does not have any optical zoom, only digital zoom, which is clearly inferior from a picture quality perspective).
All in all, a great camera that doesn't break your bank.
One of the best ultra compact digital cameras! by peterfox77 ,Sep 06 '05
Pros: Lightweight, Small, simple to use, cheap media Cons: No optical Zoom
If you are looking for a small digital camera then SD20 should be something you looking at. This camera comes in beautiful colors and is really small and lightweight. Simple to use and low maintenance. The software is pretty good too. The only downside is that there is no optical zoom. So if you can live without it, then this camera is for you! If not check out SD30, which should be an improvement in all the categories that SD20 lacks.
Pros: Powerful small full-featured camera. Cons: Video recording is at best minimal.
The Canon SD20 is a great full-featured digital camera for its size. Mobility in mind, this camera packs a 5.0MP capturing resolution, 2X optical zoom (4.5 Digital zoom), and the ability to record motion. This camera body is almost identical to its predecessor, the SD10, but with 5 different colors to choose from, a higher CCD, orientation sensor, and a 9-point AIAF (vs the SD10 5 point).
I needed to find a camera that was physically small enough to fit in a wallet or a purse with carrying case. The camera itself is about the same size as my cell phone (3.5 X 2 X .75D) and hides nicely just about any pocket I slip it into. I was also considering the Sony T1 (or the newly released T11 variant) which also is just as small, and probably would of done a nominal job. I however found the Canon to be much smaller in size then the Sony, which solidified my purchasing decision.
Pros: The SD20 has 5 megapixels and it is soooo small and cute! Cons: The video feature uses quite a bit of battery power.
I love my Canon PowerShot SD20. I love the quality of the photos I printed. The macro feature allows for extreme close ups. I also love the five different settings for lighting conditions. I had the very first digital elf and was reluctant to replace it until this tiny, yet powerful camera came along. The landscape shots are crisp and beautiful. In portrait mode, the aperture allows you to have a face in focus and the background blurred. Read the book and take advantage of this little beauty! This camera is smaller than my cell phone and priced reasonably.
Urban, smart and super slim, the PowerShot SD20 Digital ELPH is perfectly at home in all the right places. It s a camera that s handsome enough to pos...More at Buy.com Marketplaces
