Pros: Nice quality and borderless printing. Cons: Print speed.
We recently had to replace the printer that is hooked up to the kids computer, that one stopped working and they didn't like the hassle of having to do their work on my computer out front. The printer didn't have to be a photo printer, so we were able ...
Pros: Price, Replacment Ink Price, Easy to Use, Good Print Quality, Adequate Speed Cons: Noisy on start up, Warm up time, Not for Office Use
The Canon i450 was purchased to replace a Lexmark 3200. The 3200 inkhead belt (the belt that moves the ink cartridges back and forth when printing) had worn out and would no longer move the heads. I have now had the i450 for over a year and I think I ...
Pros: Fast,
Great Quality,
Only two cartridges to change,
Seperate Print Head,
Inexpensive Printer & Ink Cons: Makes strange noises when not in use,
Does not come with USB cable,
Usually, I was told to stay away form Canon's bubble-jet printer (with their BJ and BJZ series), but their printing technology has advanced right past Epson and HP. Installation: Easy installation, not plug and play, but once drivers are installed ...
Pros: Quiet, speedy, borderless photos, EXCELLENT photo-quality printing (you'll be stunned), Cons: Does not support banner paper, doesn't have separate color ink tanks like i550
After spending about 30 minutes in Best Buy in the printer aisle, I decided to go to Staples and spe ...
Pros: Small, great results on plain or photo paper, excellent software, comes with both ink tanks. Cons: Doesn't come with a usb cable.
I bought this printer to replace another Canon printer that was given to me by a friend. The old printer's ink tanks cost over $40 each, so for me, buying a new printer was a better option. I originally went looking for a multi-function machine, but as lu ...
Pros: Cheap, Great Value. Cons: Too small ink cartridge(have to change often)
I was looking for a cheap printer. I usually print text papers, and also have Epson photo 960, so I didn't have to buy expensive one. After I read some reviews from here, I decided to get Canon i450 for me. The printer is around $50 range, but if you t ...
Pros: GOOD RELIABILITY; PRINT QUALITY GOOD; REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES MUCH CHEAPER THAN HP!!! Cons: MAKES ALOT OF NOISE AT TIMES
Prior to purchasing this printer I owned 2 HP inkjet printers in 2 years. Both were junked prematurely: within 9 mos to a year. The first failed due to a software (possible virus) where machine kept printing garbage in between lines. The second due ...
I love this printer for documents and photographs! by kelliobrian ,Aug 22 '04
Pros: FAST, EASY, Inexpensive, Great photos Cons: NONE
I recently had a Epson 475 epx photo printer that prints fantastic photographs but it the in is soooo overpriced as well as the printer that was slow and complicated to use.
I purchased this inexpensive printer from Canon and was a skeptical, because of the price. I love it! It prints fast papers and documents and beautiful photographs. Also the ink is inexpensive and easy to find.
You can NOT go wrong with this printer!
Frustrating paper feeding. Lousy envelope feeding by billat908 ,Jan 10 '06
Pros: Not too bad on paper, but still fails to feed often. Cons: Horrible on envelopes. Less than 50% success rate.
Wish I'd never bought it.
I can't seem to find a paper that feeds reliably. I am totally unable to get it to print envelopes from word without constantly resetting the reset button or rebooting my computer. Takes several tries each time.
AVOID this one if you want to print envelopes. It is not too bad on paper sheets, though.
Pros: Print quality, Cost, Ease of use Cons: Print head wears quicker than expected
Have been using the i450 for light office use for just over a year. Has printed many pages of research, homework, scouting forms, and some office work. The quality has always been crystal clear, rivaling a laser printer. Photos come out beautifully, although sometimes with a very slight blue tinge (may be due to a camera setting, not necessarily the printer). There is also a difference between Canon ink cartridges and generic replacements, which shows up more in photos than regular printing (color differences, slight clarity issues).
Recently the black ink has become unclear (white streaks, blurry text). Went through trouble shooting options which were very easy to understand. Print head needed to replaced ($45). Installation was not terribly difficult. Print quality returned to original clarity.
Deskjet 450 a big disappointment. by daleinaz ,Jun 29 '04
Pros: Small size, fits nicely when traveling. Cons: HP can't seem to make it feed paper.
I have purchased two of these printers; the first one was stolen. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how lucky I was to have the first one stolen. Both experienced problems with paper jams. The first 450 I owned was repaired under warranty for paper jams, however, it still experienced far too many jams after the repair. I purchased the second 450 after the first one was stolen. It has experienced paper feed problems also. Couldn't use photo paper in it. I eventually went to light weight paper and then that gave paper feed problems also. I have subsequently read many reviews that seem to indicate that this must be a basic design flaw with this printer. If the repairs have to be made after warranty, HP support will tell you that you might as well buy a new printer. Right-but don't make it a 450.
Grow old with/because of this printer! by 10208269 ,Feb 07 '05
Pros: great digital photo quality Cons: you can draw those pictures faster yourself!
Yes it has a great quality for digital photo prints(make sure you actually use photo printing software, if you just click print from the picture itself---streaks all the way), and the text documents print just fine. However, it takes this piece of machinery forever to wake up and actually produce a piece of paper with something printed on it. It will pretend to get active, then you hear the wheels turning and turning and turning, all the while you have your hopes up that it will actually print, but no!! You check to see if the paper is going in OK, or maybe it can't hook it up to print, but then there are those times when it prints it right away, no wait! so, what is it, is it moody?? In short, if you have the time to wait while your hair turns gray and you grow a beard, this printer is a good companion for that, otherwise--no go!
