Pros: Cheap, Cheap ink, MemoryCard slots, borderless photo prints up to 8.5x11, digital cameras direct connect Cons: small ink cartridges, mine was slow to start printing
I had bought this item from my local Staples for about $30 after applying a $20 off $100 coupon, the 2% from my AmEx Costco Business Card, my up to 5% Staples Business Rewards, and a $50 mail-in rebate! I know that I'm been a big supporter of HP ...
Pros: Cheap cartridges, Awesome pictures, easy installation, never jams, compact, attractive Cons: long start up routine, no xD card reader
After trying several different HP printers and getting progressively annoyed by the prices of their cartridges and constant jams and misfeeds, I finally decided to follow my instincts and go with this Canon. I must say I've been very happy with my ...
Pros: Inexpensive, Reasonable Size, Ink Availability, Built-In Card Reader, etc. etc. Cons: Not much, except having to give the heads a good cleaning!
I've had this printer almost a year now and have loved every minute of it. My old Canon (BJC-6000) was outdated and took a dump on me, so my husband and I were in the market for a new printer. I had been impressed with the 6000 while it was up to date, ...
Pros: Borderless, vibrant color. Quiet, fast, economical with fantastic output on all paper. Cons: Tricky card reader printer controls, inaccurate ink consumption meters.
Just before Christmas I needed to get a new printer. I needed a new printer because my HP 960c was having problems feeding photo paper. The HP would pull it in crooked and jam all of the time because the paper was so thick. The paper I was using was ...
Pros: Cheap ink, great quality, great price Cons: None for me
My main reason for purchasing this printer was the cost of the ink. The black ink is around $6-7 and the color is about $16-18. This is great when compared to other companies selling ink for over $30 a pop. I used to work at an office supply store and ...
Pros: Easy to set up, operate. Prints more than 4x6 sizes... Cons: Nothing big...it would have been nice if the USB cable had been included.
I ordered this printer last week on-line. Never owned a photo printer before and had investigated the possibilities for a long time before I laid down my money. I don't have a lot of experience with computers, digital photography, printers but this ...
Pros: High quality pictures, low cost ink cartridges, complete web page printing. Cons: No USB cable.
I purchased this product on 12/14/2003 from Staples. The $50 rebate made the purchase of this printer irresistible. Setup and software installation was straightfoward and simple. You'll have to provide your own USB cable though. The product seems to ...
Pros: Amazing photo printing (if using correct paper, ink and a good photo). Quiet, Small Cons: None really.
I have had this printer for about 1 and a half years. I would usually print from my computer to the printer and would get pretty nice results from my 5 Megapixel camera. Most of the pictures did not print out well because they were not taken in good ...
I picked up this printer for $49 from Fry's. Added toner cartridges for less than $25 and what a deal! It came with sample glossy photo paper. I decided to print out a jpg that was one of those promo pictures you have taken with Stitch at Disneyland. ...
Pros: It prints color but that's about it. Cons: Doesn't print in B&W. Printer cartidge problems. Paper loading is a problem.
As I a tech I can say that this machine was one big nightmare. It printed nicely in color but it refused to print in black & white or even grayscale. Photos would print but not text. Even after the settings were adjusted it still didn't print text in B&W.
The paper also had a problem loading so you could print a document and constantly had to be reset. Also, getting the printer to allow you to remove the ink cartridges were a bit problematic. They are easy to remove but if you lift the cover to do so, the tray does not slide over normally. I had to push it over because it wasn't doing it normally. This printer is one big headache and not reliable. I would not recommend people buy this printer. You'd be much better off getting HP or Lexmark.
Pros: While it worked it worked well. Cons: It's now a useless piece of junk.
I bought this machine in April 2004. When the print quality became poor in November 2004, I got instructions from Canon's e-mail service, which didn't help; the second set of e-mail instructions told me I'd worn out the print head following the first instructions and to get a new one, which I did for $40. In January, the black suddenly refused to print; instructions from Canon by e-mail and by phone didn't help. I need a printer for my work and can't wait the projected indefinite amount of time to have the machine repaired. As I don't have space in a small apartment for a second printer, I'll have to put this machine on the street and buy a new one.
Pros: Wonderful picture printing, fast, high-quality, cheap ink cartridges Cons: top-loading, pictures rarely come out a little too 'blue', long delay on starting printing
Well, nearly so.... The best of all printers I've had (other printers were HP & Lexmark). This one beats them hands down! Case in point: I just made my mother a photo calendar for her birthday this month. The pictures I used were from 3 different 35mm point-&-shoot cameras and one picture from a digital. I scanned the pictures & then printed them on the i470D as 8x10's.
EVERYONE that looked at the calendar before I mailed it off commented on how sharp the pictures were. (And the scanner is a low-end model from Big Lots -- in case you think I've got a really ritzy scanner!). No one could tell which ones were from which source. One lady that has printed out digital pictures at one of the do-it-yourself kiosks at Sam's said my pictures were better quality & she was coming to MY house in the future to print out her pictures!!
The main drawback for me is the paper is top-loaded, & I much prefer front loading. Top-loading is inconvenient for where I have my printer located at home. But I manage to contort myself enough to get the paper in--LOL.
Pros: Price, but you get what ya pay for Cons: to troublesome
I've had the i470d for eight months and its nothing but trouble, the first one I purchased got a paper jam and that was the end of it, I must say Canon sent me a new one but now this one just prints very faint and Canon said I have to send it in for service and ya know its just not worth the trouble anymore. I never had this trouble with my Epson and Im going back to EPSON since Canon customer service just dont understand how to treat customers. Dont make this mistake a printer should last atleast the year they warranty their product. Go Epson!
Price, price, price. Wow. Threw out my old ones by ptbiboa ,Dec 16 '03
Pros: Cheap Cartridges. Excellent photo quality. Price! Cons: Need your own USB cable
The photo prints came out as if I picked them up at the photo lab. The ink jet cartridges are very cheap. Full price after a Office Depot rebate was $57.00. Heck, two HP cartridges cost me that much! I initially bought two for the office and when I saw the print results, I bought one for home. Black prints are fast and there's lots of good software which comes with it. Perfect for organizing my photos. This software is extremely easy to use for printing photos too. Much easier than the HP included software.
