Pioneer TSA1680R
by integrapunk67 ,Jan 18 '04
Pros: Looks. Soars at the high notes. Cons: 3 way version put out more bass for me.
Excellent looking and sounding speaker. Haven't bought many speakers myself, but from what I've seen it offers good bang for the buck. On my application however, I don't have as much power going to it as I would like, so I expect it to get even better. I found either due to this or the fact it needs more power than it's 3 way version (TSA1670R) which I also have, it doesn't put out much bass. On the high notes is where it really excels though. But unless you don't have dedicated subwoofers, the 3 way would probably be better. If you have subwoofers and don't really need these for base, than the 4 way rocks.

great speaker
by thebigbug110 ,Nov 12 '03
Pros: great highs good lows awesome for 6.5 speaker Cons: need to have bass blockers or hpf to get full power
This speaker will not hit as hard as hit brother the 6by9 or 6by8 but a pair of these puts out like one ten inch sub. You will need a amp to get it though but any 50 watt RMS amp will do the trick the sound is clear up till about 3/4 power then the bass needs to be turn down or filtered to about 80 Hz other then that amazing speakers

Speakers for a newcomer
by woolley07 ,Jan 30 '05
Pros: Great sound along with affordability, and it is a 4 way speaker making it better. Cons: "tinny" noise for about a week, and not the best bass in the world.
The Pioneer brand is a midquality brand. These 4-way speakers, give great treble, without a lot of bass support. The sound takes about a week to sink in, but once it does, the results are fantastic. I recommend these speakers to anyone who wants a nice upgrade from their stock speakers, and doesn't want to spend a whole bunch of money. Affordable and good quality, a nice buy for everyone. A great complement is a nice pair of 6x9 pioneers.
