Pros: small size, easy loading, works with factory controls (no FM modulation). Cons: No MP3 data discs allowed.
Boy was I happy to find this unit sitting in the back panel of the 2000 BMW 528 wagon that I just bought. It was a clean installation and with an adapter worked flawlessly with the factory BMW head unit and steering wheel controls. Since there isn't much ...

Pros: Slim, Easy To Mount Cons: Capacity Only 6-Disc
The worst thing while driving, other than crappy drivers, is having to change the CD you're listening to. So...the easiest solution? A CD changer of course! Save a few bucks and head down to your local car audio shop and pick one up. The CHM-S630 is a pre ...

Using it is a blast!
by murdocky ,Jun 09 '05
Pros: Compatible with many factory radios.
Easy to use. Cons: Installation is long.
Provided hardware *may* be lacking.
We ordered this from crutchfeld a couple of weeks ago to interface with a built in 1996 Honda Accord radio/tape player.
There were no instructions provided with the cd changer in how to install it in specific vehicles, which makes sense since there are so many types! Unfortunately, installing it in an Accord was no easy task. Initially, we wanted to put it in the trunk, but there were no flat enough surfaces on the floor. We then decided to put it under the passenger seat in the cabin, but after two hours of unscrewing the whole thing, we saw that the floor of the cabin was too uneven to screw down the plates with the given materials. Luckily I had some longer screws that we put into (predrilled) the floor and then we put the carpet back down. After that, installation was a breeze.
There's only one cable, and it has power and controls all built in, which is nice! I don't like splicing cables on things that cost this much! The changer is very quiet when playing, and you cannot hear it changing cds when driving.

Good changer replacement for 95 Jag XJR
by photty ,Dec 19 '05
Pros: Works perfectly with NO electrical issues or converters, and it sounds JUST perfect.
Cons: I had to drill mounting holes, since it smaller than the Jag stock CD player.
My stock 95 XJ6 jaguar CD player had reliability problems. Its impossible to find a changer that will work as a replacement, other than the Jag Dealer's rip-off....other than THIS model Alpine CHMS630. I couldnt even get the Alpine support rep to tell me if it will work, and no-where on the Web could I find the info.
